idk how much I like the albums I've made but I'm glad they're out there? imo they're the best representation of how I was doing for the past 3-4 years but...meh. they're all really intentionally inaccessible and I kinda regret that

it's just like...idk putting a harshly clipped noise track at the start of my most personal album was...a choice. weaponized distortion makes people not listen even though it's personally poignant

wanted a similar one to my old one but NOT the old one because...okay so you know how they retire hurricane names if they cause too much damage? it's kinda like that

SCOOP: So remember Dialog, Peter Thiel's private society that doesn't have a public website and no public list of members? I (along with a number of other journalists) have just been tipped off that embedded in the code of their closed off website there IS what seems to be a list of some members.

so in case anyone was unaware, i tend to be out of work during the summer. i've been trying to find a summer job, but honestly it's slim pickings in the suburbs without a car. if you wanna pick up some stuff on my bandcamp for a buck or two, it'd be really appreciated! mp3neptune.bandcamp.com

Winner: Svante Arrhenius - "At first, nothing appears more obvious than that everything has a beginning and an end." Loser: Stieg Larsson - "To exact revenge for your friends and loved ones is not only a right, but an absolute duty."

being in a British Facebook group of "90s ravers" is fantastic because I get to hear both slang for drugs I've never heard before AND rabid misogyny from the average British Gen Xer

it's a little irritating but all I do is lurk and it warms my heart to see old mfers reminiscing fondly on the golden age of big beat even if they miiiiiight want me dead

it's weird having just a little bit of southern figures of speech because I've always had a pretty neutral american accent but when I'm fucked up I start with the "let me spin you a yarn"s and "that ain't no justice"s and slip into a bit of a drawl

all my family is small-town SC or VA originally but my parents trained out their more country inflections a long time ago so idk how I've absorbed as much as I have or why it tends to crop up when my inhibitions are down but that's kinda how it works

one of the things that keeps me going is looking at artists and musicians in their 40s and 50s and 60s - there's so much depth to be found in every craft. it's never to late to start learning how to do something you love, and you have the rest of your life to make something of that. that's beautiful

what's wrong with me is that I worshipped at the altar of Spinnin' Records and Revealed Recordings for the entirety of my most formative years so aggressively unified branding and viewing music as a product were both etched into my soul a decade ago

on a positive note, been revisiting a lot of my old favorite Dutch EDM mega-DJs, and yep, their stuff is still inspiringly well-engineered and unflinchingly formulaic. might be going to see Hardwell live in DC this summer. will spend entirely too much on it if so. just EDM bubble things
