#GOTOpodcast, @icooper.bsky.social, @davidwhitney.co.uk & Hannes Lowette talk about how architecture really works at scale: • sustainable vs “slash-and-burn” systems • emergent design vs intentional design • why cargo-cult patterns hurt more than they help 🎧 gotopia.tech/podcas

I'll happily recommend this podcast from .NET Rocks w/ @hanneslowette.net explaining Event Sourcing. Thought this was a good rundown of strengths and unfortunately real challenges: www.dotnetrocks.com/details/1961

I loved chatting to Flavia about the way they transformed their support organization!

A few weeks ago, I've released the second part of my Dometrain Event Sourcing course. In this one, I'm using Marten to explore more Event Sourcing concepts and practices. If you're interested, check out the link below. 30% discount with code SUMMER30! dometrain.com/course/deep-...

I had a chat with my friend @eli.holderness.dev about the cool stuff they do at OpenSAFELY. Be a fly on the wall for that chat, and take a look at this.

"It's just perfect for immediate use!" That's what our students say about our OpenTelemetry in .NET course. Stop wondering how to implement modern observability - start building it today with 40% OFF!

God I love the layout of the Suzuka circuit. What a great technical track. So many places to make a difference. #F1qualifying

Marten just crossed 10 million downloads!

My friend @rendle.dev gave a fantastic keynote at NDC London. They used their amazing sense of humour to drop some serious real talk about feeling like an imposter. I may have shed a tear when I was sitting there watching this. Many people needed to hear this! www.youtube.com/watch?v=fL2p...

I really enjoyed this conversation I had with the fantastic @maritvandijk.bsky.social about reading code. She talks about why reading code is hard, how to get better at it, and where tooling may help alleviate things. Thanks to @gotocon.com for recording and sharing this!

This is Marco Rubio explaining how the USA promised to defend Ukraine forever if they got rid of their nuclear arsenal left after the Soviet Union fell. This is why lil marco was sinking into the couch. He was hoping we wouldn’t find it…so don’t RT right now this very second.

Fuck everything about this news: unisa.edu.au/media-centre... We are creating a society where otherwise beautiful women feel the need to alter their appearance to adhere to an ideal that only a very small portion of men find attractive. We need to fight this. Hard.

@rendle.dev making real talk very funny as the #NDCLondon locknote. Next level!

LinkedIn is losing it. They are using AI-generated fake profiles to push ads, disguised as direct messages into the inboxes of everyone... including paying customers like myself who already pay ~$600/year for LinkedIn Premium. What a low. (This is real, from my "inbox")

@rendle.dev reading an NSFW children story (don’t ask how that works) at the @ndcconferences.com Christmas story. 2 minutes in, and I’m already dying.

@andersnoras.com at the @ndcconferences.com Christmas party: viruses were great until ransomware took the fun out of them entirely. If that makes you filled with FOMO, good. You should be here next year.

It’s december and everyone is starting to post their year in review, or is setting goals for the next year. Since 2024 has been thoroughly crap, and I’m gonna take 2025 slower, I don’t feel like doing either. So… let’s talk about music. Tell me about 6 albums from the past year.

This morning we announced my new gig as CEO and Founder of Zure UK. I'm really excited by the challenge of building something new. zure.com/blog/zure-uk...

. @noopman.com is talking about how we need to do cloud better at @cloudbrew.be. The average cloud project isn’t what is was meant to be. Sounds like ‘doing cloud right’ is actually a lot of work. Is that what the cloud promised us?

Want to learn about Event Sourcing and CQRS? I made a Dometrain course to get you started! I dive into Event Sourcing and CQRS by example as I build a working system from scratch. If you're quick, you can still get it at a discount with the Black Friday sale: dometrain.com/course/getti...

“This time, I’m going to take my time and cable this PC nice and clean.” … an hour later … “Nah, fuck it. This is good enough.”

Atoms are binary. They are either intended to be hydrogen or helium. We can't just scrap this worldview just because of a handful of exceptions

Our housekeeper asked me this morning what I was editing video about. I managed to explain to him in about 5 minutes what the benefits of Event Sourcing are, and why you would want to use it. Why is it still so hard to convince technical teams? #eventsourcing #stopcrud
