So, Lorebeards is pretty relevant to our interests today: they'll be discussing Boris Todbringer. Live at 4pm UK. www.youtube.com/live/FVBqgmZ...

John Blanche's legacy and influence are undeniable; so the Rooks are gathering once again to explore the lasting impact the great man has had on fantasy and science fiction. Join us at 7pm UK / 2pm ET / 11am PT on YouTube or Twitch.

This was a great chat with Jes Goodwin as we meandered through John Blanche’s work and influences.

I can finally announce that my book on building fantasy worlds is scheduled for a December release. It is based on my experience helping to develop Warhammer and Vampire: The Masquerade, as well as other titles. www.routledge.com/Building-Fan...

The Odyssey. I initially found the American accents jarring and chided myself — it’s not any worse than English accents, after all. Then, as the drama unfolded, I realised what that decision meant. I will watch this one again; I have theories and I want to see how deep they go.

We’re going to watch Event Horizon, my favourite 40K prequel movie, for reasons…

We have finally arrived at our seats for @criticalrole.bsky.social at Edinburgh Castle. We were guided up here by the lovely staff, who were super cool. Thanks to @kyleshire.bsky.social for the tickets. Best graduation present for Josie and Abbie, ever! :D

The queue for @criticalrole.bsky.social at the castle is… a bit big.

Currently with Lindsay and the two new graduates in Hot Pot before heading up to Edinburgh Castle for @criticalrole.bsky.social.

It is Sunday morning and our kickstarter for Embers of Humanity has entered its final week so I thought I’d write a bit about how this RPG came to be. www.kickstarter.com/projects/mem...

With just 54 days to Tabletop Scotland, and with sportsball being all the rage it seemed fitting to post this today given that in 1954 Scotland appeared at their first ever World Cup. 1/2

I remember doing the first map of this sector a very, very long time ago.

Remembering our tours of Norway’s fjords earlier this year…

I’ve been on the train so many times these last few weeks that the staff know me well enough to guess what I’ll order. As I await my food, this time I’m going to tap away at some rule design.

Hiding from the sun before taking graduation photies. Jo wisely took a parasol.

Josie, chilling before her graduation In her flat.

If you see this, post your own comfort characters.

On fanart, here is a brilliant piece by Ash of Birdie in one of her less controlled moments that was posted in the @lawhammer.bsky.social Discord. You can join us over there at this link: tinyurl.com/LAWhammerDis...

I will never tire of @lawhammer.bsky.social fanart! Thanks for this one, @autumnarchfey.bsky.social! Funny to think how things have changed since this was drawn.

I love watching serious journalists trying to seriously cover the dawning political reality of @countbinface.bsky.social.

How’s many of you caught the map I did for @criticalrole.bsky.social’s Campaign 4?

And if you haven’t bought it already, go buy Dark Deeds! Coz it’s truly fun (and funny) board gaming awesome, available from @modiphius.bsky.social. I spent far too many hours working on this one.

Inside the Rookery, @rookeryp.bsky.social’s video podcast about games, writing, and all things geekery, is still going strong as we head towards our 200th episode. I guest on it frequently, including the shared episode below.

For those asking, Lorebeards has expanded significantly over the last year. We now cover Warhammer Fantasy, 40K, Age of Sigmar, Roleplaying as a whole, and even have an (infrequent) bookclub. It’s expanded fan beyond anything Ryan or I expected, and we actually employ a bunch of folks now!

We’re no @criticalrole.bsky.social, but I’m still super proud of our wee show. We’re building a new studio in my garden for the second season, so it’s gonna be a wee bit more professional moving forwards.

I’ve been hanging around her for a while with the @lawhammer.bsky.social account, but never sorted a personal presence. I’ve been told it’s time to fix that, so here I am fixing it.
