Listening to Down on the Upside and Soundgarden were just so dialled in. It’s incredible. It’s only because it followed Superunknown that it met with mixed reviews. If it followed Badmotorfinger, it would have been glowing across the board.

I ordered a new monitor off Amazon and it said it was arriving Sunday. As my CC had t been charged I check the email and it says arriving Sunday… 11 January 2026. WTF? Did I totally misread that when I hiy buy? I tidied my desk and everything.

I've got a trial sub to OS Maps and looks at route in the Bristol area, on the first page is this route by My Black Dog, and it's a route from Clifton Suspension Bridge to Beachy Head... Both suicide hotspots...

I know I've said this before, but honestly, every photo I see of Wes Streeting, he has the look of a man who just spotted someone in the pub that he owes twenty quid.

I know going to see Counting Crows is desperately uncool but not as uncool as the guy up in the circle of the Manchester gig tonight that was so fucking hammered and belligerent that security removed him. Kicked out of a counting crows gig. Fuck me, that’s sad.

Well, that didn't take long... Thing that was presented as a real risk of omnipresent online ID verification rolled out by the UK government with the Online Safety Act gets the speedrun treatment by hacker eyeing a juicy prize. lol lmao

Wes Streeting wants the police to focus on “policing street and not tweets” only weeks after police heavy handedly policed peaceful octogenarian protesters in central London of holding homemade sign (analog tweets). Unequivocal hypocrisy.

Me as a child in the Tower of London looking at the exhibited medieval torture devices unable to comprehend the horror of their implementation. Me as an adult in 21st century Britain looking at the same instruments of torture. “Doesn’t seem like a bad way to go.”

This post is unavailable.

This sort of fatalism reminds of the meme I saw of the medieval torture rack with the caption “you know there’s a couple of seconds after this starts when this feels amazing”

My work has a series of industry specific podcasts and I assume the only reason I’ve never been invited on them is that they know I would extremely online with all my takes.

The weirdest place I’ve been told I’d make a good podcast host was in the pyramid field of Glastonbury Festival by a guy who overheard me talking as I walked by him. Thanks, old biker looking dude, I think about you all the time.

Playing XCOM 2 and I'd left the blacksite mission quite late on, but took in a pretty nails squad. All going well, until I grabbed the vial and hit the exit and a turret downed the carrier, so now I have to go pick them and the vial up and carry to evac. Only the Chosen turns up and kills everyone.

Alien Earth is surprisingly… fun? The first two episodes have set a much goofier tone than I’d ever anticipated. When I first heard about it I wasn’t that interested about the corpo angle, but now I wanna see Syndicate-style corpo war. It’s dipping into a lot of influences as it goes.

Just had a demand for my yearly building’s insurance and it’s £200 less than it was last year. That probably has nothing to do with landlords arranging massive commissions to their brokers who then kick back most of it to the Landlords and that practice being outlawed y the government, does it?

Usually just stuff about how much his football team sucked - posting the score when they lost, championing the rival team. One time he actually said to me, “I think the guy in the flat below really hates Man U.” “Mate, I know nothing about football,” said I.

Throw back to when I last shared a house and I created lots of virtual SSNs off our shared router to needle my housemate, by periodically booting his MAC address off so he would have to see the list of WiFi networks when he next opened his laptop.

It’s one thing to suffer the enshittification of the internet from a corporate/capitalist overlords but it’s another thing for the UK govt to do it. I’m not going to provide my ID to services I pay for with a credit card. A thing that they only issue to ADULTS. For fucksake.

Wait… did Robert Smith play with Olivia Rodrigo so he could get one ahead again of Chris Martin for number of times they’d played the headline slot of Glastonbury?? Shrewd move, Mr Smith. Shrewd move.

It's been one year of a Labour government and it's been pandering, ineffectual, debased and simpering. It's difficult to perceive how it can materially improve the experience of living in the UK. It seems only intent on making everything worse by lurching with ever greater strides to the right.

I am glad that I did not find myself in a seat that required a Labour vote to oust the Tories, and I'm really quite glad now that my vote ousted the incumbent Labour MP.
