Court records say he grabbed her by the neck, took her into a bathroom and repeatedly forced her head under water. She reportedly told investigators she could not breathe for roughly 20 to 30 seconds.Johnson pleaded not guilty in May. A judge ruled prosecutors presented enough probable cause for the case to proceed, and a jury trial is scheduled for November 2026. When I asked for the reason behind my termination, I was told, “Many reasons. I won’t elaborate.” It’s taken time for me to decide what my next steps are and how best to proceed, but I’ve come to the consensus that the best course of action is to lobby the court of public opinion to do what it does best…talk, debate, reshare, and comment. If you’re new here, here’s some context: I originally took this video down in the interest of keeping my job after receiving a type-written request by administration to remove the video. Despite the fact that the initial video did not violate any preexisting social media policies in the staff handbook and no identifying information was named in the video, I was told it reflected poorly on the school. Not wanting to be perceived as “difficult”, I complied with the request. In hindsight, I wish I hadn’t, because this deserves to be discussed.To be clear, it is not, nor has it ever been, my intention to besmirch, defame, or negatively impact any academic institution for which I have worked. But I truly believe America’s youth deserves a comprehensive education that reflects modern teaching practices and does not silence educators for expressing concerns off-campus, after hours in the privacy of their own car. Educators should not be afraid to go to work. They should not lie awake at night scared of tomorrow’s impromptu observation or last minute meeting. They should not have to hold conversations outside of their own classroom for fear that every word they say is being monitored by a camera and picked apart for excuses to terminate their employment.Schools should be welcoming, warm, and friendly. Students should have a voice. Teachers should feel comfortable and supported.
