Tuesday 8:58 am: A bit more humid today as gulf air has returned in the lower atmosphere. Cumulus clouds as well as altocumulus and cirrus high above. Cannot rule out a scattered shower toward evening, but just partly to mostly cloudy most of the time. Upper 80’s pm.

Monday 4:21 pm: Big Picture Weathermap: Although the lower atmosphere is fairly dry now, it will be moistening up tonight. Patches of scattered showers are possible late tonight/Tuesday, most of the time, simply mostly cloudy. Low/mid 80's Tuesday pm.

Monday 8:47 am: Marginally moist air in the lower atmosphere will be sufficient for scattered cumulus. Higher up will be cirrostratus that will make skies milky white, dimming the sun at times. High 80’s pm.

Sunday 4:08 pm: Big Picture Weathermap: Plenty of cirrus/altostratus will remain in our skies through Monday, dimming the sun at times, some cumulus. Lifted air appears not buoyant to rise to form tall clouds with showers tonight/Monday (always watching), mid/high 80's pm.

Sunday 8:26 am: Marginally moist air will bring partly to mostly cloudy skies today. Cannot rule out an isolated small shower toward evening, for the most part, plenty of clouds in our afternoon/evening skies. Mid to high 80’s pm.

Saturday 8:43 am: Warm moist air is tracking north, mainly west of us from central Mexico north through New Mexico into Colorado. The air here is just moist enough for a deck of clouds ~5,000’ up. These clouds will morph into scattered to broken cumulus, enough sun for 87-91F pm.

Friday 4:09 pm: Big Picture Weathermap: A deepening dome of warm air is in control of the Great Plains. 83F as far north as Bowman, ND 83F in Baker, MT. 90F warmth in Laredo. Similar weather for us through Sunday.

Friday 8:54 am: The band of low level moisture that brought Thursday’s clouds/patchy light showers has moved to our west. Drier air has brought sunnier weather today, some altocumulus, cirrus high above. Upper 80’s this afternoon.

Friday 8:58 am: NWS page that offers access to numerical model analysis and observations brings up a blank page. Concerning after Thursday’s removal of surface data outside of the U.S. Hope this is not related…

Thursday 8:49 pm: New today: I do not see the point in removing international data from this site of the type shown in Laredo data including Canada and Mexico. Fortunately, at least for now, the government aviation weather site still carries this data…

Thursday 4:27 pm: A band of low level moisture is passing west across south Texas, we had .05" at the tv station. Dry air is still present higher up, and will mix in, clearing skies Friday. high 60's dawn Friday, upper 80's to near 90 Friday pm.

Thursday 8:20 am: A patch of warm moist gulf air in the lower atmosphere is moving west across far south Texas. This has brought humid cloudy weather to our area today with a few patches of scattered showers. Upper 70’s to low 80’s this afternoon.

Wednesday 4:17 pm: Big Picture Weathermap: A band of moisture in the western gulf will move west across south Texas during Thursday. A mainly cloudy and more humid day, a few scattered showers are possible, low/mid 80's.

Wednesday 8:46 am: The atmosphere above is still dry, mild/warmish mid to high 80’s today. Cloudier skies, more humid air, a few small showers possible as moist air from the western gulf moves west across south Texas Thursday.

Tuesday 4:20 pm: Big Picture Weathermap: Very little day to day change in our weather this week. A hint of a slightly more moist atmosphere late Wednesday/Thursday with cloudier skies. Mid/high 80's each day.

Tuesday 8:56 am: A gradual warming trend for our area as what had been a cool airmass is moderating, slowly warming up. Small scattered puffy cumulus will return to our afternoon skies, mid/high 80’s.

Monday 3:56 pm: Big Picture Weathermap: Warmer, more humid air is gradually returning to our area as a cool dry airmass moves away to our east. Low clouds may return toward morning, morphing into scattered cumulus in the afternoon. Mid 60's at dawn, mid 80's Tuesday afternoon.

Monday 8:50 am: The coolest air is slowly moving away to the east. The atmosphere remains fairly moist between 10,000’ and 20,000’ altitude, plenty of altocumulus/altostratus in our skies. Some sun, if so, may reach 80F.

Sunday 4:06 pm: Big Picture Weathermap: The cool dry airmass will slowly edge away to our east a few sprinkles still possible Monday morning, ~60F at dawn. Some afternoon sun at times, near 80F Monday afternoon.

Sunday 3:38:pm: The lower 15,000’ of the atmosphere is quite dry (dewpoint much lower than the temperature), Pacific moisture is above 15,000’ altitude (dewpoint close to the temperature of the air). Most rain is evaporating as it falls through the dry air, no meaningful amounts.

Today In 1954, Texas Instruments announced the first transistor radio, a modest little device that would soon put rock and roll in the pocket of an entire generation. Do you remember your first transistor radio?

Sunday 8:43 am: Our very dry, cool airmass is capped by moist air moving northeast across Mexico. A mainly cloudy day, very low humidity, low 70’s this afternoon. A few drops may fall from the thicker clouds, almost all raindrops evaporating in the dry air beneath the clouds.

Saturday 2:48 pm: Big Picture Weathermap: A large very dry airmass extends from the Mississippi Valley south through our area, and well into Mexico.Just above 70F this afternoon, ~50F dawn Sunday, 70’s Sunday afternoon.

Saturday 9:15 am: A large cool dry airmass is in control of our weather today. Sunny, dry air, patches of cirrus high above. Low 70’s this afternoon, ~50F dawn Sunday. The cool air has reached far south into Mexico.

Friday 6:10 pm: A large cool, very dry airmass will control our weather this weekend. Low to mid 70’s each afternoon, low to mid 50’s each dawn. Patches of altocumulus and cirrus both days. Low humidity day and night.
