Hebron is under siege, Palestinian families are losing their homes and their shops. The Israeli military evicted almost 500 Palestinian apartments in Hebron . 100 shops were closed too . Many Other shops and houses were demolished too near the attack area .

Following the serious attack in the Hebron area, in which two IDF soldiers were killed, Smotrich announced the demolition of a number of Palestinian buildings, which he claimed had been built illegally.

“If you mess with the Jews, you will pay a very heavy price,” the minister declared, explaining that the demolitions were intended to “make them pay” for the attack.

It is unclear what the legal status of all these buildings is, whether they are linked to the perpetrators of the attack, or why their demolition has suddenly become an urgent security necessity. But Smotrich is already presenting the bulldozers as a means of punishment and deterrence.
