A couple of friends introduced me to My Dad Wrote A Porno because it's one of their favorite podcasts of all time and I had such a great time with the first half of season 1 until they introduced one singular character whose only purpose is to be mocked for his body and laughed at for his penis size

Like, they simply have never had to think about this particular dimension of body shame and how it could even affect them / someone they care about in any way. They don't wake up every day in a body that people don't give a fuck about and have to actively work to be okay with it within themselves?

I'm at a point now where this doesn't make me want to kill myself but fuck, you just get reminded of how people hate you for no fucking reason sometimes. One of my posts about this went viral years ago and I was harassed constantly for weeks. Over asking someone not to make small dick jokes?

A friend was eagerly awaiting my prediction for a cliffhanger in season 2 and it's literally just "the guy has surgery to give him a huge dick" and the hosts now say "aw he's lost his small penis which was his defining character" Anyway just, I don't know, don't do this?

I usually can see the appeal and meaning behind media that I don't particularly enjoy or isn't my thing but, like, this is just insidious? Like, isn't this just genuinely harmful and malicious? It sucks that this wasn't even something that was on my friends' mind when they recommended it to me?

One of them assured me I could skip the episode and it won't come up again and hey, guess what, the three hosts continue to bring him up again and again specifically to make jokes about his body. It's insufferable and genuinely worrying that my friends didn't notice it? Didn't remember?

I'm trying to power through to enjoy the good bits with my friends but it's genuinely quite horrendous and it makes me feel so shitty that this 10-year-old podcast that's been downloaded over 10 million times have a dedicated character "people love to hate" specifically because he has a small penis.

Phoebe Bridgers' Lost Weekend grew on me and I finally bought the album. Listening to Still Standing in hi-def for the first time and the production just made me spontaneously burst into tears. What an amazing year for music. Yeesh!!!

Not a specific feedback but I used to attend local comic cons to get my portfolio reviewed and one time an international illustrator guest star glanced at my pages for less than a minute and all they said was "this is bad", refused to elaborate, then waved me away 🤡

I went outside of the convention hall, had a panic attack, and cried 🤡 Afterward, I sought out Brian Stelfreeze who sat me down for a solid 10 minutes, went through my pages, and gave me one advice I still follow to this day: "give every page a title" before encouraging me to keep drawing.
