It’s nice sometimes to just sit in your thoughts. It’s been a busy year with a lot going on but sitting out on a bright evening lit only by the moonlight felt so peaceful. Mostly #SOOC minus fixing brightness. #astrophotography #moon

A lovely visitor in our backyard this afternoon. Didn't stay long but did give me a moment to grab my lens. #owl #photography #nature #wildlife

Those supporting this vote now without addressing the needs of the people can take the blame for this shutdown. You gained nothing, earned no ground, and let people suffer while doing it. This is such a huge circus.

Enjoyed this quick capture of the #moon from my front yard this evening. Looking forward to some new #astrophotography once i get a chance to use my #Nikon 14-24mm.

Nature is so fascinating. In the middle of the crumpled leaves and fallen trees, there’s one little mushroom pushing up through the soil. It’s so small, but it feels like a reminder that even when everything around seems like it’s breaking down, life still finds a way to grow. #nature #macro #fungi

The local eagles. Two adults and three juveniles were out and about though these two stayed still long enough. A lot harder to photograph without some contrast behind their heads but it came out nicely nonetheless. #wildlife #photography #eagle #birds

For the sake of my sanity I’m trying to get out more to do photography. Here’s a bird. Enjoy. Now back to whatever the fuck happened today.

Decided to put some food out for the animals because it’s been a bit harsh for weather and was greeted by all the babies having a snack. The best interaction is when I go to buy the deer block and have to explain I just wanted to give them a bit of food and don’t hunt. #wildlife

My attention span to social media is way to up and down. I just realize after over a week that I had not installed my apps and logged in on my new phone.

I adore this photo I took a few years back. I am not sure if the colors look as lovely for others as I’m colorblind but it just does something for me and I find it to be very soothing. #photography #train #tracks #nature

As a brief aside from other whirlwind thoughts: #Photography / #photographer friends - in the scope of cameras used for photo-journalism, which would you pick if you could: - Sony A1 ii or A9 iii - Canon R1 or R5 - Nikon Z8 or Z9 - Leica M11 - Fujifilm GFX100S II

It’s so smoll… my best attempt at photographing Jupiter this weekend. Someday I’ll get a telescope that can make it a little bigger… for now just my camera. #astrophotography #space

This probably means nothing to most people but I’m super stoked. I passed my CISSP exam today on my first try. Time to not look at flash cards for a very long time now. Now just to take the CGRC and I’ll be done for a bit. #cybersecurity #grc #pleasenomorestudying

The moon tonight outside my house has been graced with this odd ring that is visible in the sky. It appears something is watching down on us tonight 👁️ #moon #astrophotography #photography #space

One of the things I’ve enjoyed on bsky - you can curate a feed that keeps you free of the negativity that bleeds in forcibly on other platforms. You can then just CHANGE to another feed where you can see adults, ACTING like adults, debating topics without it devolving in to make calling.

I cannot explain why I felt the need to photograph this but my brain just said “that looks oddly pleasing.” Maybe it’s the fact it was just in the middle of a field or maybe my colorblind brain thinks the colors look nice. 🤷‍♂️ #photography

After getting in a disagreement with another bird and running off to a branch at the back of our property, this owl had the mate come check on it. #owls #owl #photography #birds #nature

It’s been long enough and it’s my favorite photograph I’ve taken. From my front yard with a 600mm lens, lots of stacked frames, and even more mistakes along the way, I present my photo of Saturn #photography #astrophotography #planets #space #saturn

Last of the night - I promise. The mood of this photo when I took it just captured my feeling for the day so well. A small aura of down feelings with a spot of hopefulness. Looking forward to better tomorrows indeed. #photography #nature #peaceful

Little ladybug friend was having an afternoon snack on the leaves at the pond. Minus the constant threat of being eaten by the birds it seemed like a good day for it. #photography #insects

Circling back to this photograph. This was the first time spending a little more effort in photographing the moon and bringing out more details. I’m excited to test out my star tracker mount this winter. #astrophotography #photography #moon #space

I keep coming back to this photograph I took at Luray. Warm tones and gentle lighting helped to create a timeless, tranquil atmosphere. #photography #caves

Nothing I like more on a Monday than trying to decipher the information out of a regulatory document… EU CRA is such a fascinating read. 😳

Friendly holiday reminder: Don’t go posting about vacation dates or when your family home is going to be empty. Let’s try NOT to make it easy for the bad people. ❤️

Who else is excited for another exciting Thanksgiving conversation with the family over how Trump will finally better their lives? Who is ready for the conversation in two years when it’s still the democrats fault?

I've spent way too much timing thinking about world events lately. They are very important, but I think it's time to post some of my photography instead for a bit and eye bleach myself.

Good morning BlueSky. It’s nice opening up a social media feed that isn’t interlaced with advertisements and hateful commentary for the third week in a row ❤️

I can comfortably say that the engagement from content on here seems significantly more involved like with early Twitter or Instagram. Additionally, continuation of topics occur across multiple replies and reposts more frequently than I experienced at my peak times elsewhere.

In June Elon posted this graph of the rate of likes on X. It doesn't have a unit on the y axis, but it's plausible to assume that it's events/sec. If that is true, X in June was handling about 20k likes/sec. For comparison, Bluesky is now handling about 700 likes/sec during the busy part of the day.

One of the realities I’m watching people have to come to terms with is that those that loved them and raised them do not share their same views for the present and future or having views that put “I before We.” It is not easy to accept this reality that what you now are they may no longer protect.
