Christmas is one of the few times now I get to sit down and draw in earnest in my sketchbook, I did a lot of mad drawings that could never happen working digitally, and this was a particular favourite.

Few years back I wrote this short story of 150 words or less from the prompt "A sequel to Pixar's 'Up', but where the old man 𝘧𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘴." or something like that. Just happened upon it amidst a bunch of drafts in a Google Doc and 𝘨𝘰𝘥𝘥𝘢𝘮𝘯 ChatGPT can get to fuck, even if I say so myself.

Hi everyone. The Onion, with the help of the Sandy Hook families, has purchased InfoWars. We are planning on making it a very funny, very stupid website. We have retained the services of some Onion and Clickhole Hall of Famers to pull this off. I can't wait to show you what we have cooked up.

Apparently been exactly one year since Astarion tried to bite me so I immediately kicked him out of my adventuring party. BG3 was a great time, it just... didn't have a vampire in it when I played it.

Oh God, they're all going to be data labellers. There will be internships where you have to identify how many bananas are in each image in a folder of 40,000 images, and you'll get a new folder every three months. Oh, no. Oh no.

Greg Sestero is a lovely man. I've never gone to a meet & greet before so I'm a very awkward normie to have wander over and waffle at you before your movie comes on, especially when I only just found out you'd be there because I'm on a surprise birthday thing and I secretly want to hug you.

Clanking mindlessly against resistance bands is the only thing that makes being a doodling, improv & DnD nerd at 36 even remotely comparable to bring one at 26 - my meat is in a constant state of temporal erosion

Couldn’t get to the gym lately and began to idly wonder what I'd feel like after 3 weeks without lifting and the answer is ‘every damn year of my age’, do not recommend, never doing that again.

Father-of-ten EDM vocalist Elon Musk said he did some brain thing. If you can't wait for the details, this helpful person made a comprehensive list of OTHER people who have already done, detailed, and published much more specific brain things already! And these guys aren't parasitic nutters!

And, as many of the outlets note in the middle of the piece, where no one will read because we're all just snarkily screenshotting headlines and confusing vibes for facts: OTHER PEOPLE HAVE DONE THIS. IT HAPPENS A LOT. Here's one that helped someone walk: www.sciencenews.org/article/brai...

I use this term and am so happy it has been recognised, as it encapsulates in a single word a pattern that's super beneficial to recognise if you use any internets

The American Dialect Society picks their word of the year for 2023: enshittification. “The term…became popular in 2023 after it was used in a blog post by author Cory Doctorow, who used it to describe how digital platforms can become worse and worse.” [americandialect.org]

Positive spousal COVID test thirty Earth minutes before the end of the last day of work. The downsides I feel are obvious here, but also... I mean... who's going to eat all these mince pies and chocolate now we've not got house guests for the next week?

Because I'm a massive #DnD dork and regular dork, this year I made a Google Sheet that creates #ttrpg shop inventories/pricing for 5e, that can account for in-world circumstances like wars or festivals. It prices spells too, and DMs on DnD Reddit seemed to like it so why not share it here I guess 🎁
