I believe that we need to keep talking about what German leaders (and media) have been doing over the past 20 months, and we have an obligation to hold them accountable. My piece mostly concerns the attacks against Iran and not the atrocities Israel is committing in Gaza, but ofc it’s all connected.

"What We Lost in the Skies Above Tehran" HENNING LAHMANN (@hlahmann.bsky.social‬) on Germany’s failure to uphold international law – and why it’s not the breach of international law that threatens normative stability, but how the international community responds. verfassungsblog.de/what-we-lost...

We know exactly who threatens our safety btw. We know where the threats, the hate, the abuse come from. Spoiler: it’s not Die Linke, and it’s not Neukölln.

We are still neither angry nor loud enough about the fact that this terrible and dangerous racist is still at UGent. What’s going on over there?

He's not in some marginal place or unemployed or anything. > UGent has defended its decision, stating that Cofnas was selected through a "procedurally correct" process that evaluated candidates based on qualifications like publications and expertise. www.brusselstimes.com/2007046/ghen... 3/n

I'm old enough to remember a time when The Atlantic at least pretended to do journalism

Privacy and civil-rights groups call the Flock Safety police cameras an Orwellian threat to the Fourth Amendment—but such cameras “can help make the criminal-justice system both fairer and less punitive—if we let them,” Charles Fain Lehman argues:

You cannot see the pull of AI separately from the massive influence that neoliberalism has had on our societies. AI would stand no chance if we would (still) value accuracy over efficiency.

Replying to @cabel.panic.com

you can’t spell CONCERN without CERN.. really makes you think

Over the past three years, Germany became a uniquely destructive force in the world. And now it’s government is acting surprised that the other states kept the receipts. That’s not just embarrassing, that’s utterly delusional.

Germany failing to be elected to the UNSC might be the most delightful news of this whole wretched year

In Gaza, all men of military age were deemed legitimate targets. “And military age is really open to interpretation,” said Jonathan. “It could be from 16 to 60 or even younger...Most of the people that my unit killed were not armed.”

Jonathan once believed that Israel “had no choice but to fight in Gaza”. Today the former IDF soldier is “ashamed” of what he and his platoon did to Palestinians. Register for free to read his story in full

Ette Media@ettemedia.bsky.social

ABC’s 730 programme aired this bizarre exchange where Flotilla activist Neve was pushed to show documentation of her alleged abuse at the hands of Israeli forces. What do you think of this line of questioning? youtu.be/MUcQgzdyHIE

AI is reshaping industries and our economy, and it’s crucial that young people and our workforce are equipped to succeed in this landscape. Proud to introduce a bipartisan bill with Sen. Rounds to ensure students and educators have the resources they need to harness the power of AI.
