just learned that Jack Perry(#AEW) is Luke Perry's(90210) son and it is blowing my mind. am I the last to know?

not to state the obvious but recently I've been playing Quake Brutalist Jam III and it simply rocks. the size and quality of this project is insane!

hot take incoming: there is too little time in a day and too many great books to read (hot take brought to you by me adding titles to my TBR much faster than taking books off it)

I have just finished reading the Dan Abnett's Azimuth comic. Wow, what a ride. Easily one of the best of recent things I read/looked at in the comic world. That is an honest recommend from me. Go in blind and have fun.

In the last week I was utterly consumed by Caves of Qud. After couple tries here and there it finally clicked for me and I was engrossed 110% Today I faced such a unbelievably spectacular defeat that not only did I uninstall the game but might never come back to it. 11/10. Would recommend.

I know I don't often post about the games I'm playing (or about anything else to be real) but over the weekend I started Kathy Rain 2 and boy howdy is it a fantastic and engaging story. Definitely recommended. Just look at it.

I really want to post here more often. Share what cool comics or books I’ve read, which games ruled and which 90s movies didn’t suck. But every time I see here news from The US I just feel like shutting up. So I stay quiet.

If you'd told me last month that I will finish campaign in Europa Universalis V, I straight up wouldn't believe you. Yet here I am, having finished a playthrough, ruling the lands and seas as a global hegemony. Insane. Honestly didn't know I had it in me.

I knew Skate Story was going to be Bonkers Good(tm) but I did not expect "I need to quit in the middle of the demo and wait for full game" levels of Bonkers Good(tm)! Stellar work.

just rolled credits on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. what a phenomenal achievement in gut-wrenching storytelling. fantastic. no notes. chapeau bas.

apropos of nothing, The Saint is a fantastic 90s action movie. In my opinion Val Kilmer's best role. If you haven't seen it recently, today is a good day to change that.

I've been hankering for a Big-Meaty-Game(tm) so sink my teeth into and strangely I think I settled onto Victoria 3. It's been a while sine I played a Paradox game - last one being CK3 so this might either consume me or spit me out after three hours.

last movie of my nostalgia playlist done. ending the campaign with a probably less known flick from Jude Law's Sci-fi oeuvre - The Repo Men (2010). Had fun with that one, yet at times it got too real in its dystopian portrait of privatized healthcare. Still not bad by any means.

second to last nostalgia viewing of my Fuck Anxiety January was Constantine (2005). Crazy fun watching a birth of a proto John Wick. Keanu Reeves in another role where he plays a character named John (John Matrix from the movie Matrix (1999) is the other one). Fun stuff.

as I enter the early 2000s part of my nostalgia journey, today's viewing was The Chronicles of Riddick (2004). the VFX stuck out more than on many of the movies from the 90s but still had a lot of fun with pre-FF Vin Diesel and pre-The Boys Karl Urban.

last movie from my 90's nostalgia list done. Today's viewing - The Boondock Saints (1999). Dafoe gave masterclass on chewing the scenery and out of left field Billy Connolly was a cherry on top. tomorrow we are boldly entering the 2000's as I have few more movies to watch.

finished reading Sanderson's Wind and Truth. I feel if you write this big door stopper of a book you you should be legally obligated to put in *some* more stuff in?

finished God of War: Ragnarok (PC) today. this might be the most game-ass game I played ever? enjoyed the main story and stayed around for post-game content which is very unusual for me as I tend to bounce right after finishing campaigns. all in all fantastic experience. one of very few 5/5s for me

finishing the week with a banger of a nostalgia movie - Dark City (1998). Talk about not making them as they used to. What a terrific dark and twisted little piece of weird fiction. Despite seeing it multiple times over the years it captivated me from the start and never let go until credits rolled

today's movie of choice was The X-Files: Fight the Future (1998). While it felt like a longer episode of the series it is still awesome piece of best alien conspiracy show. While I don;t have it in me to rewatch the whole thing, Fight the Future gives enough of a taste to have your fill.

starting new week of my January's campaign. Today's viewing was a polarizing retro classic - Sphere (1998). I liked it. Suspenseful moments really got to me. There is just something about oceans as a setting for horror/thriller that works wonders and really gets my imagination going. Fun stuff!

last 90's retro movie before the weekend was The Game (1997) Had a lot of fun with this one. I really miss that area's suspenseful thrillers that kept you on your toes for the whole run. Recommended!

a bit late update to today's retro nostalgia movie viewing - Chain Reaction (1996) what a fantastic mid-90s schlocky action. did its job, kept me distracted for two hours of scheming.

today's retro nostalgia viewing was probably one of the best representations of mid 90s aesthetic - Hackers (1995). Fantastic movie with absolutely bonkers depiction of hacking and emerging Internet culture. Great watch. Hack the planet!

continuing with my January's 90s retro nostalgia spree, today I watched Alien 3 (1992). This time it was Special Assembly Cut which totals the runtime at a whopping 2:24. While this is not my favorite from the franchise I was solid action with great visuals and fantastic Charles Dance performance.

today's movie of my feel-better-campaign (tm) against January's anxiety was Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991). this one is always great, isn't it. had fun all the way from a banger opening to end titles.

in my fight against January's anxiety I watched Aliens (1986). saw the extended version which I guess was released since last time I saw it and this viewing experience was excellent! fantastic pace and great action all around.

first book from my Lovecraftian Pulp pile that I started reading is Red Equinox by Douglas Wynne. the beginning is ridiculous already and I hope it will get only crazier with each chapter

January was always a tough month for me. A lot of anxious thoughts come up in full force. But this year I'm fighting back with a carefully prepared a blanket of retro nostalgia :) I have set aside 17 movies from the 90's and early 00s, got a stack of Lovecraftian pulp novels and RetroArch all set.

after a bit of trial and error got MAME working in RetroArch with my preferred CRT shader. between Cadillacs and Dinosaurs and Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo I have my vibes sorted for the tail end of 2024.

finished building my Gundam Sentinel. tomorrow I'm putting the water decals and celebrating a first build in years done.

re-watching the original Stargate (1994) this time an extended edition and I have to tell y'all - maybe it as glass of wine already doing its job that that is a fine 90's sci-fi flick. (nothing compared to pure perfection that is SG-1 ofc...)

I have found my Gundam model tools, so naturally I'm knee deep browsing models and figuring out what's next. #gundam #gunpla #imightbuildamech

I’m sure at some point we’ll get it but you know what would rule? A Total War Warhammer 40k. I absolutely adore the fantasy game but the space grimdark one is where it’s at.

Over the last few evenings I’ve been deep into Chaos Dwarf’s campaign in the Total War Warhammer 3. I’m at the last mission only to discover it crashed my game. Turns out it is known issue. There are perhaps 30-40 factions in this game. This kind of pinpoint accuracy for finding failure is unreal.

as I finish Dimension 20's The Unsleeping City campaigns I am in awe how creative and brilliantly clever adapting DnD rules into modern day magical version of NYC turned out to be.

after a week long hold on me, I'm finally done with Dyson Sphere Program. finished the game, had lots of fun, it overwhelmingly consumed all my free time. fantastic factory building game.
