There is a group of 4 young bros at the adjacent campsite who cannot light a campfire to save their lives. I'm tempted to go help them like the middle aged bog witch that I am.

I grilled a spatchcocked Portuguese marinade chicken over the campfire yesterday with sweet potatoes, hakurei turnips and radishes. It was amazing and torture while it was cooking.

I'm camping near North Bay, ON and there are so many cool fungi. Lots of Amenita muscaria in different stages. Anyhoo here are a few cool squishy bois.

What Dolly Parton or Tim Curry movies did everyone watch this weekend? I'm not a big movie watcher normally, but I squeezed in 9 to 5 and Muppets Treasure Island.

I was really sad about Dolly Parton so I donated to the dog rescue where we got both of our beloved poodles. The world needs some joy.

I tried some celery yesterday on a veggie platter and I actually liked it for the first time ever. I'm not sure who I have become and why this happened.

I woke up this morning with a striking urge to get glasses with orange frames. I have no clue why. I don't wear orange. I do, however, wear glasses again.

The dog and I spotted a doe on our evening walk to the creek. He was more excited about the skunk at the other side of the park. Merlin also picked up an Eastern screech owl during that walk. And yes, I live in Canada's largest city.

I've had 2 big cups of coffee today which means I'm about to have the best nap ever.

Behold! The single bean my scarlet runner beans produced so far. But I've still got plenty of flowers and tendrils happening, and lots of pollinators visiting, so I'm hopeful.

French is such a fun language sometimes. The more formal and bureaucratic my tone gets in French writing, the more pissed off I am.

My cucumbers went from non-existent to giant yellow orbs in the blink of an eye. I guess I'm going to have to make relish and mustard pickles aren't I?

I harvested enough garlic from my garden yesterday to keep me well stocked until October or so. It's curing by the mantle. I've got about 25 small heads of garlic, not bad for my first attempt.
