BigClive showed this AliExpress traffic light, its very poxy and has green on top! (Flashed each light 5x, repeat) That would not do. I made a board that runs the UK sequence with incandescent fades. STM32C011 is the core, SW in Ada. github.com/morbos/ada/t...

The Navier-Stokes blow up with OpenAI and the researchers: Buckmaster, Alpöge, Córdoba and Martínez-Zoroa. It's up to the Millenium Prize folks. If I were them, I would split it 4 ways with the humans and an honorable mention to OpenAI.

smol, a 0.35mm pitch WLCSP12 STM32C011D6 footprint. 1.7mm x 1.4mm package. C2&D3 are epoxy filled via-in-pad as they are unroutable w/o that. I have its physically bigger cousin running Ada in 16k of flash with only 6k ram. This one has 32k, woo hoo.

Worked! SWD connected. For soldering, a very thin layer of flux was added to the footprint. Then two hotplates, one at 150c for 90s another at 250c for 30s. All in all, quite straightforward.

A snail could have got there quicker. This Christmas card *just* arrived at some friends in SF from us here in Silicon Valley. 45miles in 8 months. Hopefully they will deliver our ballots this year in a more timely fashion.

One snag with the old one, the rubber feet wore off eons ago. My soln, clear 2mm silicone sheet material. Cut to size and place a drop of UV glue and the lamp cures it through the feet. Good surface stiction from the replacements.

The first two smartphones and a pixel 10 xl. I can't find the charge cable for the HTC dream in the middle, the iPhone I could probably get going though, assuming the battery is spry.

Just finished binging Severance. Great show! For the tech minded, the show runs minds like an ARM CPU with TrustZone but without any context sharing. You can boot S or NS until the next warm reset. On the severed floor they are S, in the elevator switching S<->NS.

In ye olde days, a friend on his companies letterhead would have fake secretarial initials on correspondence to folks he didn't particularly care for: amf was the secretary :) ... Best regards, Pete PW:amf

“Patel, Bongino and the other leaders are caught in a trap of their own making,” said Russell Muirhead, a politics professor at Dartmouth College “The world they helped create, a world in which conspiracy destroys facts, is now the world they have to inhabit,” he added.

This is a combination streetlamp and pole pig in Monta Vista from the creation of the neighbourhood in the mid 1960s. Paint is a bit lacking here. This is the terminus of a string of these.

The mid 60's houses are in this 'California Hacienda' style. Love the old style lamp and the arches, there are many like this here in Monta Vista.

These are 115kv lines heading to Moffett field. They exit the Monta Vista substation and proceed over suburban neighborhoods. Here they are about to cross the eight lane I-280 freeway from the southbound side at the terminus of Groveland Dr.

This board I cobbled together, ready for mailbox installation. The door will have a small disc magnet that trips the magnetometer threshold, wakes the CPU, and sends a LoRa message indicating (most likely) that mail has arrived. Runs on harvested energy.

100% Ada programmed, including the full LoRa stack I wrote for use on the STM32WL5x embedded in the large module on the board. The magnetometer is the LIS3MDL that just inexplicably, went EoL. No demand for 3 axis magnetometers? They are very useful ihmo.

My new board works. First time, just a minor Ada sw change to add the TCXO that this LoRa module needs. So it harvests, charges the battery, gives 3.3v to the module and the magnetometer works. No issues seen.. yet.

1.6uA in RTC shutdown. Wakes up every 30sec where it pulls 4-7ma. reads the magnetometer and compares to the backup ram that survives shutdown, then goes back to sleep. If it needs to xmit, 100ma for a moment. xmit is rare. Might be able to save a tidge more on the magnetometer in power down2.

Christmas miracle. After I put my one way stopper door in, a squirrel exited but could not get back in... so.... he loitered... loitering is being monitored by a true apex predator. This happened *fast*
