Seconded! One of the last things I did on my long defunct blog was review the iHunt RPG and this stood out to me as well. It's not easy to put yourself in the shoes of people who are poor. Art bringing that experience forward is important!

There are many reasons I’m excited about this, but here’s a weird one. In the U.S., everything is pretty bad right now, and some part of me would expect this to be reflected in our TTRPGs, but by and large it is not. iHunt is an amazing exception to this, and thank goodness for it.

Another call to the nets: GEEKY MEDIA. Where can we send a press release. We have the gaming standards like Rascal. But: 1) Horror 2) Gaming 3) Movies 4) Fiction #iHunt overlaps so heavily, we will go anywhere that'll take us.

It's good! Every good thing you heard is true. Surprised about the amount of restraint in the film. Nothing is overdone. Excellent film. Most of the gore is related to Matt's face getting carved and to acts of self harm. Some gets their tongue ripped out. Otherwise, bearable.

Some days I hate the very concept of time. Today was proceeding a normal pace and then, this afternoon, I feel like I lost an hour somewhere and I can't pinpoint it. In remembering appointmets a week out, I'm a day off.

The Empire Strikes Back when I was 6! Our local theater is an old vaudville theater that was updated for film. The balcony was closed off for a second screen, which is where I saw it. I remember being upset that my younger brother fell asleep during the assault on Hoth.

First film I saw at the cinema: The first one I'm 100% on is Prince of Egypt, except that I do vaguely remember watching an Aladdin in theaters. Except that I would've been 3 at the time, and for some reason I remember it as Return of Jafar...except that wasn't a theatrical release.

I don't know a damn thing about Mork Borg apart from the aesthetic, but Quinn's thread for October is really making me want to check it out.

Playing #MarvelSNAP last night and accidentally discovered that I could have multiple zombie hordes in play. Every time the Horde keyword triggered, they all go bigger! So now my deck is built around that. Also, I pulled the new Thanos. Not sure what to do, so I dropped him into a Dormammu deck

(I kid... mostly. I am supporitng Clayface tomorrow but, also, it has me thinking about Darkman. Glad there is a decent bluray of it out there. I may have to track that down for myself!)

D&D night! We.missed three consecutive sessions at the start of the last movement of the campaign. The DM is finally able to uncork and unleash on us. Gonna be a good session!

Trying telehealth mental health again and of course there's a problem. This time it was tech issues. Moving to Linux has been pretty much bug free, but for some reason, this telehealth's video system detects that I'm not on Windows or a phone and wigs out.

I have less trouble with Discord. Let that sink in for a moment.... And because I can be paranoid, I now have to wonder if the web-based chat platform is pulling up tracking or advertising data from my phone. But the counselor and service aren't using AI, so I'll call that a wash for now.

Mic problems. Didn't work with my Logitech webcam mic (which is excellent and well recognised). Didn't work with my Anker earbud. Did work with my Bose headset.. for 10 minutes and then disconnected. Had to switch to doing the session on my phone, which isn't as comfortable.

We've been so busy with back to back events that the shadow of the elections has only just begun to darken our doorstep. I hope as hard as everyone else that things will begin to turn around, but the cultural shift that allowed corruption to take such deep root won't be foiled by one election.

This is going to require a sustained effort at all levels. Definitely vote on the national level. Get active on the local level for local candidates. Get the kids involved! If you are old, like, me, "the kids" are old enough.

What if you see ICE at the polls? (Don't worry! Read on for the plan!) @indivisible.org roped me in to design and illustrate a new zine! Check it out in this 🧵 - and visit linktr.ee/wewillvote to sign up for the Election Protection Program and find all the resources you need!

That aside, mixed feelings. If you've played Vampire Survivor, you should know exactly what to expect here. The novelty of card battling is fun, but it feels like a grind and it's a little too easy. But I'm progressing steadily and sometimes these games get better once you unlock stuff.

Kindergarten, for sure. Maybe a little before? I showed up already knowing how to read and finished my workbook within an hour. Why, yes, I was undiagnosed autistic in grade school in 1979. Didn't know it was autism until COVID.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: This sounds like a joke question, but it isn’t. If it doesn’t apply to you, fine. But it’s a serious question with different levels of meaning. And I am genuinely curious. When did you first realize you were weird?

I say maybe a little before because I know I was in a preschool and, in hindsight, they are in the same mold as above, but I don't know if I was aware of it then. Before a certain point, you know too little to put it together... I think.

I recently caught up with the new Mortal Kombat films. Serviceable enough. I respect the swings that they took. Not doing a tournament in the first one because the villains were cheating by killing off the competition first was a great idea. How TF was Kano the best character in both films?

It struck me today, how little time is left in the current Marcel app before they cut off my subscription. I'm not going to see how The Mortal Thor ends, or any of the other half dozen books I'm actually invested in right now. There's a non-0 chance that I'll come back, someday....

But I think I'm really ready to do this. It's never going to be easier to drop the sub because they are literally cutting me off (you have to resubscribe directly to the new service). That's one night a week that I can reclaim for other pursuits! Playing or writing games, for example.
