Having never read any Ursula K Le Guin before I was tickled to learn about the hypnosis in Lathe of Heaven and am wondering what other references to hypnosis there might be in popular media of the last century that have bemused YOU oh faithful followers?

Also bc it’s ONLINE I get the impression alot of folks experience with hypno is through files versus 1 on 1 and it keeps me curious about the aesthetic differences and how the end result varies

Never one to kink shame but checking in on fetlife reminds me how much fascism and its oppressive philosophies slither in and poison the well of things similar to tradwifery on tiktok or w/e

People who vague liberal left leaning politics without grounding in the theory just enabling stuff and opening the door for who they claim to be against while thinking they are transgressive

Hypnosis is wild y’all

I don’t know about y’all, however it would seem I am still building out my pallet of colors in which I paint hypnotic situations. At this point I have some I’m well acquainted with and tend to use however, each time I find a new partner I like mixing new colors and and seeing what happens.

And even then I can’t claim to know that’s correct

This might not even be the right metaphor for things, but perhaps that’s me giving away my whole game. Pick a metaphor any metaphor, preferably a topic or subject brought up by the hypnotee and run with it until it loses breath and stamina

I’m fascinated by the difference between folks who only experienced diagnosis as mediated through the Internet and those who’ve done it in person mostly because such a made up delineation is boring and quaint nevertheless, there’s definitely some different flavors between the two

And maybe while mapping out this tree, it’s worth noting the difference between textbased, hypnosis and audio or visual hypnosis. If you’ve read any of my posts, I think you know which I prefer in practice however, I’m a big fan of whatever works for you.
