Always interesting hearing that Schengen is a red line. I think it comes from the old view that policing is only effective with bobbies on the beat. Properly done Schengen gives us access to far more valuable intelligence whilst removing border friction.

Solid result for Sunderland again in Europe. Hope they can start doing the same in the Premier league. Best news seeing Brobbey on the bench

Reform's policy of blaming illegal migration for everything, and claiming that dealing with it will fix everything is ripped apart beautifully, in just 1 minute. It's the same scam Hitler and Mussolini were selling 100 years ago.

I have never seen coverage of a live trial, one involving allegations of multiple sex attacks on multiple women, framed in a more distasteful way. It's not 'Fame under fire' it's a rape trial. And it involves actual women. And this from the *checks notes* BBC

Ten years of living through a promise of better times was ultimately rejected by the people with the restoration of the monarchy. I often wondered if that would be repeated.

Absolutely hooked to the Physical series on Netflix. The Korean , Italian and Mexican ones are great but the team version, Physical Asia, was superb.

This Fairfield Five thing gets me thinking it was actually Jim, Shirley and three others from the cast of Brassic filming for the new season.

Do some family tree research and currently looking through online registration books from Lisbon trying to fund my Great Grandmother’s birth. This current book is 900 pages and a real strain on the eyes.

Useful statement to use against those saying there is no difference between donations from mega rich individuals and unions. They still won’t believe you though.

Three emails from The Labour Party in response to the two mega donations…….. asking for money. This really is not the response to openly seeing our democracy at threat from mega rich individuals with questionable intent.

I find it strange when an ebayer who is very local says you can come and see the item on sale yet doesn’t respond to messages asking if you can come and see it.

So Rachael knew what she was doing after all.

Politico: "The latest Private Eye pulls various data together to suggest the Rachel Reeves agricultural inheritance tax changes might be having the intended impact: pushing tax-avoiders out of farmland and making it more affordable for real farmers." (Cont.)

@tomcollinsworcs.bsky.social There is a phrase "give them an inch and they'll take a mile" The government should think about this when it decides to normalise masked paramilitary men patrolling our streets, by not calling it out and linking there actions to "legitmate concerns"

We were thinking of doing our own Gogglebox last night by hooking up a camera to stream our daughter and her friend watch the original Wicker Man. I wish we had now given the multiple cries of "what the hell!"

Who would ever have thought that the BBC’s political editor would put out a single source claim that was both false and also great propaganda for Reform…

Dear UK 🇬🇧 government. It’s ok , your vote isn’t going to collapse if you name & shame fascists & racists . It may well increase . Your silence in not standing up to bullies makes it look as if you’re standing with them . Their expression more brutal but you’re playing for the same team 💔

Given her support and love for and to the trans community I felt it was a poor choice for the BBC News to quote Rowling’s tribute to Dolly Parton.

The price of hold baggage is getting stupid now. Just checked flights for next year and for the people there is an additional £400 for bags and choosing to sit together.

Thames Water say that if they had eliminated all the leaks in their system then the environment would be even drier leading to more wild fires.

No idea if this is anything to do with the #eclipse in Western Europe but the sky looks a bit unusual here in Zakynthos Either that or Tellytubbies is about to start

I love the way that in zakynthos they put loads of lights on the water lorries. It’s like the Coke “holidays are coming” but every day

Im on holiday at the moment and I saw two people in the pool wearing meta branded sunglasses. Didn’t look like the ones often shown. One person was elderly so I wondered if she was using assistively. Either way it felt a bit uncomfortable especially with kids also in the pool
