Books! I love books about people. Sebastian Faulks, Ian McKewen. Etc Try Sebastian Barry. Really good writing. Can recommend ‘Days without end’. Spell-binding stuff. Simon Scarrow and Gordon Doherty et al await! In these difficult times authors give us a door to peace. We all need that!

Must say that Sebastian Faulk’s ‘Farewell to Eden’ is absorbing. He’s never disappointed. His books have a knack of making me not wanting to finish them. Yes, they can be uncomfortable, yes they can make me think, or re-think things, but that’s a good thing!

With all that’s going on in the world, I thought I’d cheer myself up with a good book. ‘A possible Life’ by Sebastian Faulks. Wonderful and gifted Author. Tough book though.

So I’m confused. The Straits of Hormuz were open. There was a deal in place with Iran. Then Trump started a war. Now the Straits are open. There’s a tariff. How is that better? And what about the dead and wounded on all sides? And Trump is now Jesus and the Pope is the enemy? WTF?

Having watched the US Supreme Court decision, and then the orange one’s rant, what was the outcome? Couldn’t work anything out, other than he doesn’t want to be questioned by CNN.

How will Republicans react if the investigations in Europe reveal details in the Epstein Files that Bondi and the FBI have failed to reveal? What if they are damning? If not damning, then why are they not revealed? Not many responding to that question.

A question. Given the state of world politics, the inconsistencies in US policy, the western economic outlook etc. … What will it actually take for the UK to realise that the EU is our closest and most important partner? And the People of Europe are most like us (plus Canada) in terms of values?
