Frontier AI models excel at hard problems, but they’re not designed to subsidize endless development workflows. Their incentives push toward rate-limiting, not generosity. Local LLM tools fill the gap with privacy, speed and control.

Frontier AI models like GPT, Claude, and Gemini are powerful, but their costs will keep rising. These companies aren’t charities; they’ll always optimize for revenue. Solo devs must adapt by shifting to smaller, tighter, local‑first on-device coding sessions.

It is unfortunate that @github.com has broken the trust of developers. It has been rudderless without its CEO and adopting a marketing-first product stance that is destroying the reliability and integrity of the core service.
