International Conference On Memory 26-30 July 2027 in Glasgow

Our last keynote speaker to highlight is Prof Lynn Nadel!!! icom-memory.org #neuroskyence #psychscisky #cognition #ICOM2027 #philosophysky 🧪

Lynn's research spans memory and spatial navigation in humans and animals. He has literally written the book on navigation: the hugely influential "The hippocampus as a cognitive map" and has made further fundamental contributions in relation to systems consolidation, forgetting, and much more.

Today's keynote speaker to highlight is Prof Nora Newcombe! icom-memory.org @noranewcombe.bsky.social #neuroskyence #psychscisky #cognition #ICOM2027 #philosophysky 🧪

Nora's research focuses on spatial cognition and development. She has made fundamental discoveries in relation to how our ability to mentally represent and manipulate space changes across development and how this ability relates to broader cognitive abilities.

Today's keynote speaker to highlight is Prof Klaus Oberauer! icom-memory.org #neuroskyence #psychscisky #cognition #ICOM2027 #philosophysky 🧪

Klaus' research focuses on human working and long-term memory. Using experimental psychology and computational modelling, he has made critical contributions to our understanding of individuals differences in working memory and how working and long-term memory interact.

We're back with another keynote speaker highlight - Prof Lawrence Barsalou! icom-memory.org #neuroskyence #psychscisky #cognition #ICOM2027 #philosophysky 🧪

Lawrence's research focuses on the human conceptual system and how it supports memory, perception, language, thought and social interaction. Taking a grounded cognition perspective, his research reveals the cogntive, social and neural mechanisms underpinning conceptual cognition.

Today's keynote speaker to highlight is Prof Dorthe Bernsten! icom-memory.org #neuroskyence #psychscisky #cognition #ICOM2027 #philosophysky 🧪

Dorthe leads the Center for Autobiographical Memory Research. Her research focuses on autobiographical memory as a neurocognitive system for consciously recollecting events in the personal past and how this system changes across the lifespan, across cultures, and in health and disease.

Today's keynote speaker to highlight is Prof Paul Frankland! icom-memory.org @franklandlab.bsky.social #neuroskyence #psychscisky #cognition #ICOM2027 🧪

Paul's research combines behavior, imaging and molecular approaches to understand the neurobiological basis of memory. In particular, he has made critical contributions to our understanding of engrams, systems consolidation, hippocampal neurogenesis, and forgetting.

Today's keynote speaker to higlight is Prof Felipe De Brigard! icom-memory.org @felipedebrigard.bsky.social #neuroskyence #psychscisky #cognition 🧪

Felipe researches how memory and imagination interact. He has a particular interest in counterfactual thinking - our ability to think about alternative ways in which past personal events could have occured. His research combines philosophical approachs with behavioural and neuroimaging techniques.

For the next few days we'll be focussing on our amazing keynote speakers! First up, we have Prof Sue Gathercole. This is particularly fitting as Sue was one of the co-founders of ICOM. icom-memory.org

Sue's research spans the cognitive mechanisms of memory, learning, and attention in children and adults. In particular, she has conducted prioneering research in the development of working memory and how developmental trajectories are affected in individuals with developmental disorders of learning.
