I sell AI at one of those multi-trillion dollar Megacorps so that I can afford a lavish life-style of debauched sexual hedonism and bibliophilia. I also tame Crows.

I find a certain irony, that I grew up watching Ubisoft ram down my throat how diverse and not at all racist they were. Only to now find that even at 90% off I won't buy their game about my ancestors. Because they've noble-savaged us into utter fantasy. Vikings were dicks. Don't white-wash -_-

Some times. I get really bummed out because hardly anyone reads George Orwell's essays. And I think a lot of bad things in the world could have been avoided if we did. Except for "In Defence of English Cooking". That one cannot be excused.

This matters. This is important.

This re-post chain just gets darker and more apt the deeper you go into it. There's a sort of poetic irony inherent in it or would be, if the people suffering weren't all primarily the working and lower classes.

When I present my work on algorithmic and monetization incentives encouraging the creation of fake media I give the examples of fake hoof cleaning videos from Vietnam trying to capture algorithmic recommendations for Hoof GP videos.

This is worth a watch. Politics does not come in short form content, this is about the minimum amount of time you will need to invest to be remotely informed.

Kudos to Microsoft for sending their Geo-political mouthpiece to Europe with such a strong message in front of journalists. They did not need to bring up Ukraine, but they did. I heard from a friend of a friend that he had to pause his speech for the applause. www.independent.ie/business/mic...

I have long had a theory, that LLM's will help counter a lot of misinformation we see in social media and in media in general. I saw a screenshot earlier today, of Grok 3 concluding Elon Musk being a racist when asked. I wasn't surprised. My theory is that in order to "brainwash" an LLM

The screenshot is the final conclusion after I insisted the agent was wrong and that Musk was a victim of a smear campaign. Older LLM's and more basic LLM's will often prefer to hallucinate and agree with the user when challenged firmly. Smart AI systems and obvious misinformation does not mix.

Then when I received the answer (that he is racist) I adopted the role of an Elon Musk fanboy and pointed out to the AI that no, you're wrong. This is liberial media bias, lies and propaganda. You are wrong, check again! Yet lo and behold. A deep research agent is simply too smart to be fooled.

This is because in order to build a good deep research agent, you need an elaborate chain of thought setting. It would be VERY difficult indeed to build such a chain of thought engine that would BOTH disregard such obvious truths AND function well enough for other tasks to see ANY use.

You have to effectively denigrate it's training material or guardrail it with lies. In the massive data-sphere of an LLM. Any introduction of bad data like this, will lead to degraded performance. So I tested on Perplexity's deep research. I first posed the question in an unbiased manner.

For all my friends on here following the Ukraine war in depth. This should be very interesting to you.

For anyone curious what will actually matter over the next few years. Aside from the Bread and Circus I've been trying to purge from my Bluesky feed.

"China’s industrial might has become a source of friction as the United States, Europe, and other economies seek to defend and nurture their own manufacturing sectors." More on China's manufacturing might from @chinapower.csis.org ⤵️

The Bluesky Algo seems to find me challenging. At least after I started using the "Less of this type of stuff" button. Earlier today, it was convinced that I was a gay, furry who loved classical cinema and U.S politics.

So far I've managed to remove Classical Cinema and it's shifted from Gay furry to Gay bear aficionado with a strong interest for U.S politics. My ongoing adventure to convince it I'm just a heterosexual slut into books, TTRPG's, science and technology continues.

But seriously Bluesky. How many posts about U.S politics do I have to tell you to show me less of before you get the point? The explicit gay porn I can handle, the U.S politics is distasteful.

So Audible weekly rewinds are a thing now. Last week averages out to 10,5'ish hours per day on average. I live in fear of my manager at work discovering my weekly/yearly rewind and doing the math.

Recently had dinner with one of the people working on preventing the Y2K disaster at Microsoft back in 99. Poor guy, no recognition at all. Pratchett was right about world ending disasters all along.

My energy bills have been utterly absurd in the last two years. I'd gladly see them doubled or tripled if it's what it takes for Europe to stand up to Russia.
