It wasn’t a great summer in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan this year (no smoke but shitty weather) but unbelievable for tomatoes (4 plants) and squash vines. I’ve been processing tomatoes for over a month and zucchinis. I have a lot to go. We will have to amend our wills to who the preserves go to.

I fully expected that the people earlier complaining about the potential trade deal and stating that Carney was caving or wimping out will today accuse him of ineptitude and false bravado. Trade isn’t their issue attacking Carney relentlessly regardless of any position taken is their only issue.

Social media yesterday lowered my hopes for the USA righting its ship. People claiming WHCD shooting was staged with zero evidence and facts that make it inconceivable. The right claiming left wants to kill them all with two examples. How do they can’t pass such nonsense from both sides? Crazy.

People have said the EU lacks a leader to speak for them in a definitive voice. It looks as if they've found that person in the prime minister of Canada.

Two sons are doing next degrees away in the fall. Now there’s a direct flight from Saskatoon to Halifax and one from Halifax to Edinburgh. Fall trip in my future.

Update. They have too many options for me to start planning yet - I keep forgetting it’s early in Law School and Masters offer season. I’m glad I only applied to one law school the stress of deciding would have given me an ulcer.

So my Premier Scott Moe told our Rural Municipalities that we need to take Trump seriously but not literally. Apparently he’s not been watching since 2017 and especially not since 2025. For god’s sake take everything that nutbar says literally.

My sons are 25 and 23 and both convocate this year. As they head into their last reading week as undergrads their futures look bright. One for law school and the other Grad studies in English. It’s early but they will have choices where to go. I’m excited for them.

Saw a few posts from some Americans claiming they are no longer supporting Trump. Great. But the trigger point is always hilarious “he did x and that’s too far.” My favourite was his treatment of Collins this week - misogynistic to a reporter is now too far - but grabbing them by the pussy wasn’t

Seriously. We need to end our involvement in the World Cup - hosting and playing. Enough. They are murdering their citizens in the streets. Snowbirds come home.

I just met one of my unknown heroes. An 89 year old returning his bike rental. Practises medicine part time. Rides everyday. One of the young doctors who came to Saskatchewan when most of our doctors went on strike over Medicare in 1962. My unplanned trip to Mexico was worth it.

My wife and I hosted Christmas for our large blended family. We prepared a lot in advance and put in a pretty big day yesterday and as everyone was leaving I realized I didn’t make buns. A real let down.

This is the first Thanksgiving for Sophie & Colin Hortman without their parents, Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman and Mark Hortman who were assassinated along with the family dog in an act of political murder. National guards troops were not deployed to the state in response.

USA citizens parroting government talking points on Antifa as a terrorist org. and paid “No Kings” protesters without any evidence provided are essentially admitting that the Trump government is an absolute disaster at terror intelligence gathering and they’re okay with it.

Article in WAPO - the USA reneges on deals with MS-13 informants in custody in order to deport them to El Salvador seems unbelievable but it’s Rubio and Trump making the deal. Jeopardizing the international fight on crime so that Bukele and Trump can appear to be tough on crime is right on point.

How can you claim to be the Queen of the Kingdom of Canada when you earlier gave an undertaking to court (which represents King Charles III) and then arrested by the RCMP (which represents King Charles III) for breaching that undertaking? You would think the “Queen” would have more power.

Do any right wing Canadian posters on here have university degrees, because if so they should sue to get their tuition back because they completely lack scepticism, analytical and critical reasoning skills? So gullible.

I guess it's kinda funny that he takes after the most famous delusional character in literary history

Trump: "Today, I'm playing the best course I think in the world. Turnberry. Even though I own it, it's probably the best course in the world. And I look over the horizon and I see 9 windmills at the end of the 18th. I say, isn't that a shame?"

I’ve been an adult for 45 years. The greatest change that I love about Canada is that our National and Provincial Parks (and ski hills) are no longer European descendant enclaves. Every culture and First Nations enjoying our collective culture. I love P.A. National Park.

Alligator Alcatraz is the American Dachau. The first concentration camp. The Nazis initially portrayed Dachau as a proper prison with proper treatment. Trump prefers to promote the cruelty and barbarism. This is my latest on where this goes next. charlieangus.substack.com/p/american-d...
