A few shots from the weekend in Oxfordshire. White Horse Hill, Sparsholt Firs, sparrows bathing, red kites, and robins. #photography #aerialphotography #birds

The more time I spend in front of a computer, the more I want to be outside looking at allโ€ฆ this. Itโ€™s much nicer. #photography

SEAL! ๐Ÿฆญ Saw a seal slowly get closer to some sea swimmers. Just floating there staring at them. Then: โ€œSammy! I havenโ€™t seen you this year!โ€ Adorable. #devon #photography

Cracking sunrise at Appledore in Devon this morning. Nice to chat to the lady working at The Royal George who said she gets to see them all the time, imagine looking out of your window and seeing this in the mornings!

Egrets might be my favourite bird. Ridiculously spindly, super fluffy, can shrink down really small, or tower up high. Lots of great poses. Hereโ€™s one I was following for ages at sunrise. #photography #birds

Out before dawn and onto the South Downs for some photography. Spotted some thick mist in the distance so thought Iโ€™d go and explore. Found a great new spot! #photography

no-drone-ban-brighton.co.uk Brighton & Hove's proposed PSPO would make it a criminal offence to TOAL across the parks and open spaces in Brighton & Hove. I am not standing by and letting this happen. Iโ€™ve made this website with all the facts and to raise awareness of the councilโ€™s overreach.

Public consultation is open NOW, and the council is consulting โ€œother stakeholders as appropriate". Home Office guidance says users of a public space should have their say. If you come here to photograph, film or fly the seafront, parks and Downs, you use these spaces too. Say so in your response.

One of the things that still smacks my gob about Brexit is that when it became clear to many who had voted leave the extent to which the Brexit case had been built on lies, the liars shrugged and said voters had known the truth because remain campaigners had told what was going to happen.

Peaceful Blea Tarn in the Lake District. The roads up there were just as bad / exciting as around Cwm Bychan in North Wales ๐Ÿ˜ฌ #photography

BTN > LHR > SFO for an all day meeting later this week. With any luck Iโ€™ll actually get a little free time over there on this occasion ๐Ÿคž so have taken my camera. Recommendations on good places for photography? Iโ€™m down in Santa Clara but will get up to SF for a wander.

I was talking with Joseph Ruscio on the @heavybit.com podcast the other day when I realized that vibe coding and agentic engineering have started to blur a bit in some of my work - I published some extracts from the transcript simonwillison.net/2026/May/6/v...

Field geometry from above. Love all the hidden patterns you can only see from a top-down view. Ridgeway / Blowing Stone Hill / Westcot Down #photography #aerialphotography

Bit of faffing about with macro. Tried mounting a field monitor to the handle on my camera cage for a bit more visibility when focusing, seemed to work pretty well. #photography #macro

Just some birbs in the park at dawn this morning. Sparrow / Blue Tit / Starling. Pottering around with the new lens practicing on these seems a good way to get used to using it. Do I need to get a Red Dot sight though? Looks handy for birds in flight ๐Ÿค” #photography #birds
