I'm a huge fan of Roll Brittania and Rusty Quill, so this made me very happy ๐Ÿ˜ Now to really make my year I need @montecookgames.com to make a Cypher System adaptation of Roll Brittania like they have done with all my other favourite shows ๐Ÿคฃ

Rusty Quill@rustyquill.com

Today we're delighted to welcome @rollbritannia.bsky.social to the #RQNetwork, a hilarious D&D podcast where six players sail the high seas of podcasting and pirate their way through puzzles, monsters and innuendo traps! https://rustyquill.com/show/roll-britannia/

Thinking about it, I ran the Magnus Archives RPG at the UK Games Expo this year as part of Roll Brittania's Zero-to-GM initiative, which now feels very prescient of me ๐Ÿคฃ

I'm not sure I've got enough followers to get through anything but the smallest fraction of my collection, but I _do_ enjoy talking about TTRPGs ๐Ÿคฃ 1 like = 1 TTRPG in my (physical) library.

It has a fun, playing card-based core system. It's rules for combat are clever, with the players _choosing_ where they go in initiative. I particularly like the fact that the rules for social maneuvering are well-developed, and make politicking a lot of fun.

As the first like was from @tabcreations.com I think it only right that my first game is their excellent Age of Ambition. It's a fantasy game, but set a little later than most; think Warhammer, but hopeful rather than grimdark.

After years of binging first The Magnus Archives and then The Magnus Protocol by @rustyquill.com I am now up-to-date. And let me tell you, I am not happy with my new life ๐Ÿคฃ This new "waiting for an episode" thing is a horror. But _which_ horror, I wonder...

@montecookgames.com I've just seen a BackerKit campaign for something called Invisible Sun: Indigo. I was a bit surprised because I usually get a tonne of emails from yourselves (I've backed many prior Kickstarters ๐Ÿ˜†) when you're launching something new. Is it legit? Very exciting if so!

What a journey! When I started listening to it in season 1, I had no idea it'd be the kind of show that finished with season 5. I still remember the first time I realised it wasn't just a "monster of the week" anthology, and the shivers that went down my spine.

After many years of backing MCG crowdfunders, it has finally happened. I literally just scrolled to the end of the pledges, checked to make sure it wasn't a retailer pledge level, and clicked. I genuinely don't even know what I'm getting ๐Ÿ˜†

I've started using my local library again, after going to the Cheltenham literature festival. It's been brilliant.

Boosting because this looks like it would be a good option for small sellers struggling to find an EU GPSR responsible person without breaking the bank!

I'm not sure I have the follower count to make this a particularly challenging exercise, but nevertheless ๐Ÿ˜† 1 like = 1 #TTRPG in my library!

I seen a few people doing this now, so why not! 1 like = 1 #TTRPG in my library! (And quote this, #ttrpgsky. I want to know what's in your TTRPG library too!)

Next up is Shiver, by @parablegames.bsky.social. There are a lot of things to love about Shiver: the dice pool system is fun (dice pools always are); it does some clever things with skills; and the doom clock is a great way of driving up tension. Running it really feels like being in a horror movie!

Next up is my current favourite, Cypher System by @montecookgames.com. A simple system, but one with loads of options for players, and enough mechanical dials to turn that adjudicating even the wildest PC actions is easy. Of all the games I've played, this comes closest to "no prep" for me.

Bluebeard's Bride is a genuine work of art, beautiful in its production and with a powerful message. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to run it, but I'm certainly glad I own it.

Cyberpunk 2020, by @rtalsoriangames.bsky.social, was my second great love. RED is brilliant, but 2020 gets the picture because I've probably spent more time playing it than any other TTRPG. And I'm sure I've spent actual MONTHS of my life making characters with the lifepath system just for fun ๐Ÿ˜†

Game #1 is Lace & Steel by Pauli Kidd. I LOVE this game, it changed the way I run TTRPGs. And the card-based combat/sorcery/repartee mechanic was a huge amount of fun. One of my pipe dreams is to get a (very crude) VTT implementation of it working so I can play it with my current groups.

One of the things I like about Bluesky is that, between lists and starter packs and the lack of paid adverts, it's actually introducing me to new things. Towards the end, the other place was just showing me people I already followed and a bunch of blue-tick nonsense.

After 533 days of listening I am all caught up with @rollbritannia.bsky.social! I have loved listening to a podcast where the pop culture references are ones I understand, and the people on it are ones I can meet at conventions and see at live shows. Thanks for flying the flag!

As I look back at all the unredeemed Kickstarter rewards from the past year or two, it occurs to me that I ๐˜ฎ๐˜ช๐˜จ๐˜ฉ๐˜ต have a problem... #ttrpg
