I have an amount of sympathy for Bland, but I'd have more sympathy if RUK/Offord/Kerr/et al hadn't been telling everyone who they are and how they do business for the last year. When someone tells you who they are, believe them.

‘I grew up in a household torn apart by abuse… the way Reform leadership has treated me took me right back to that nightmare’: MSP Amanda Bland says toxic treatment forced her to quit party www.sundaypost.com/fp/msp-amand...

My Canadian civil partner, who before I met her had not been north of Stirling, is about to take her brother on a coast to coast canoe expedition from Fort William to Inverness, then hike across Harris and Skye. Feeling like an extremely proud scout leader for the first time since I was one. 🥲

I'm as sorry as the next person to see Bioware close doors but it might have helped, you know, if they made a decent game in the last 12 years. Terrible, terrible mismanagement.

Sorry, no disrespect to the disabled folk involved here, but have we as a television producing society lost our collective minds? I'm half expecting the conclusion to be "we don't have it all that bad in Britain I guess". Truly unhinged commissioning decision and society we live in.

Hard not to be depressed at the approval of Jackdaw. It's not going to bring down bills, improve energy security or reverse any decline in the North East. Only line the pockets of Shell shareholders.

The introduction of rent controls is one of the SNP policies closest to my heart. In my view, rent controls are badly needed, particularly in Edinburgh where we have such a large private rented sector. I feel pretty confident that the evidence-based assessment will make that clear.

Honoured to be re-elected SNP Disabled Members' Convener at conference. One more year to drive forward improvements to our party's accessibility.

An excellent debate today. I wasn't called to speak in favour but immensely proud of those who were.

NEW: SNP members have voted in favour of calls for the party and Scottish Government to quit X at their conference in Aberdeen 👉 www.thenational.scot/news/2...

Proud of the membership who spoke loudly and clearly yesterday. Scotgov hasn't gone far enough. Shame the minister wasn't in the hall to hear the resolution.

ECT Scotland@endconversiontherapy.scot

The SNP Conference has voted that the SNP Government must present a bill to ban conversion practices to the Scottish Government if the Westminster bill is not sufficient by the end of THIS YEAR. ScotGov is bound by both its manifesto and party members now. www.thenational.scot/news/2664082...

Sinead was the absolute best and a fantastic friend and colleague. Devastated for her family.

Ungagged!@ungagged.bsky.social

We are shocked and saddened to hear the news of @sinead1988.bsky.social passing. Heart felt condolences to her family and friends. 💔

Conference-going Nat pals, I'm (once again) standing for Member Conduct Committee and would be grateful for your number 1 vote or next highest available preference x

1. The consultation process is ongoing. It's a statutory requirement and it doesn't make sense to consult twice. Sort of what the changes are trying to fix. Duplication and doing the same thing twice or 14 times.

2. I hate to break it to Peter but you already do. Caithness General has no fewer services than any other general hospital but if one needs anything more complex, that'll be in another board area already. You're still going to need ARI or QUEH to do anything more sophisticated than an endoscopy.

Also. We see you. Members opening with "I rise to speak". You're not asking a question. Chatgpt is. Lazy.

Been having Scotparly TV on the headphones more often while I work. Baffled at general questions. Session starts at 1330 and members who've submitted questions need to be in the chamber when the session starts. Doesn't matter if they're question 3 and 2 minutes late and in the chamber.

They get skipped over and the govt doesn't answer the question. The member this happened to just now was the parliaments' only wheelchair user. I seriously hope I'm wrong because it's a significant accessibility error.

With respect to the folks at AIM. 1. You're not an SNP constituent body. You don't get a say in who comes to our conference. 2. Aberdeen/Dyce is not some holy ground where you can't be challenged on your beliefs or ideas. That's the whole idea of conference and debate.

Also, wasn't AIM supposed to be an apolitical, cross party grouping to advance the cause of independence within city and shire? Seems it's more the mouthpiece for Shell.

Pushed back to tomorrow fyi

Very much hope this is the govt changing course and introducing the LDAN Bill. At the very least, explaining how they are going to achieve the aims of the bill without legislation.

Michael Marra mocking “back of a fag packet” plans is quite something, even brave. He wrote Scottish Labour’s manifesto and at least the fag packet comes with detailed warnings.

Again, 95% of everything in this article is wrong, inaccurate or a complete exaggeration.

The National@scotnational.bsky.social

EXCLUSIVE: SNP members – who submitted multiple draft resolutions on the party's independence strategy which failed to be accepted – have reacted to the approved independence motion on the conference agenda, calling it the 'weakest one imaginable'

Immensely disappointing that folk are either whining to the media without giving their name or that the national is talking to two people without seeking any contrary point of view. Some discourse, huh

I've ranked all of these very highly in delegates' choice and very much hope to see them all, in particular the first two, on the agenda next month.

Michael G@indymichaelg.bsky.social

Proud to be supporting many @outforindy.bsky.social resolutions this delegates choice and equally proud they're supporting many of mine.

Not on this particular committee but many inaccuracies here. 1. 50 branches, but not listed in any of the leaked briefings? Are the 50 in the room with us? 2. From what was reported, It wasn't competent. It was basically highjacking another resolution and doing a delete all, replace with...

BREAKING: SNP chiefs have been accused of 'silencing' members after blocking debate on how to progress independence from their upcoming conference 👇 👉 www.thenational.scot/news/2...

3. Conferences committee is mostly democratic. It could be better as about a third are there defacto or handpicked but they did take a vote. Granted, improvements can be made. 4. Members can make their voices heard at conference regardless. 5. The lead on this is Toni G. Come on.

See, we got this right a decade ago when we put in a moratorium on fracking. Did our research, consultation and passed good legislation effectively banning the practice a few years later. It's really disappointing that we've failed to learn from when we got things absolutely right.

Laura Webster@lauraewebster.bsky.social

A summary of the AI data centre debate in Holyrood so far: 🔴 ScotGov do not support a moratorium, minister Hannah Mary Goodlad it is not appropriate and "would send the wrong message to anyone looking to invest in Scotland" 🔴 The minister did not address environmental concerns

Love the little game where I convince myself I’m ready to come off crutches, hobble around like a newborn deer for a bit, realise I am in fact not stable, and return to them with most vexed. Anyway, the crutches remain annoyingly employed and recovery is not linear.
