Imagine what would happen if I called up the government and asked for access to “the data”. “What data?” The government replied. “You want statistics on scientific or weather related information?” “”All of it really. You’re collecting data on everyone and everything. I want to see it.”

“I’m afraid you’re going to have to be more specific. We collect an enormous amount of data on everyone on a great many different things. We can’t just be giving that data to everyone who asks.” “But it’s our data and you collect it using technology that we pay for. Isn’t that what DOGE did?”

“Well DOGE was created to save the government money.” “And did they…save us money?” “….” “So our personal data isn’t protected when we have it but it becomes protected after the government takes it?” “…” “Interesting.”

Isn’t it just crazy that every day we wake up to a new bonkers declaration from a guy, arguably the most powerful person alive, who has access to the most sophisticated intelligence apparatus the world has ever known, and who still, after all this time believes that windmills cause cancer.

What do we need Trump for now that the tech bros. are dictating fiscal policy, foreign policy, and who has access to our data? We could just appoint a blonde whose first name starts with K. Preferably someone who can read and speak English.

In ten years or maybe 10 months someone will hack into whatever they will decide to call it so that no laws are broken and the results will be disastrous for the world’s population. No one will be accountable and no one will be surprised The question is will AI prevent this or just make it possible?

So now Trump is promising $5K if the GOP wins the midterms? Why I’m so old I remember Trump promising “..if you vote for me you’ll never have to vote again!” I know. That was back when you could go to Niagara Falls without risking a side trip to El Salvador.

I’m not a statistician but how hard would it be to devise a system where the people counting the votes don’t know whose votes they’re counting? Apologies in advance if this is a stupid question but who’s going to cheat if cheating could be helping the other side?

Trump calls the “Emergency Ballroom” a military complex so as not to be confused with the “Pentagon” which is just a military complex that doesn’t really do anything except function as the command and control center of the largest military in the history of the world……

…..he could just order a couple of billion dollars worth of gold paint and give one of his buddies a no-bid contract to make the Pentagon look like a royal whorehouse from the Moulin Rouge but how you supposed to make that look like an emergency?

Is the Government Accountability Office in charge of tabulating the number of reasons Trump has rolled out for why he needs an Emergency Ballroom? Are we under imminent threat of a resurgence of the tango? It was originally rolled out as a long needed entertainment space. Emergency entertainment?

Growing up there was a joke cycle where the punch line was some variation of “Everything’s bigger in Texas.” I feel like there’s a real missed opportunity here regarding John Cornyn and his recent observation that “There’s nothing we could do to rein him in.” So, biggest? In Texas? Ted Cruz? Anyone?

The world’s wealthiest assholes are spending the money they stole from you to purchase all the remaining resources and by that I mean the stuff that they couldn’t steal from poor countries using your tax dollar-supported military. The media would be sounding the alarm but they’re paid not to.

Once again the current administration casually fans the flames in the Middle East. After threatening Iran with “total obliteration” for their pursuit of nuclear weapons they make a deal with Saudi Arabia. And for approximately the bazillionth time no one asks “Why?” Could it be more obvious? Money.

The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, publishes an incomplete database of voter fraud cases brought by prosecutors since 1979. As of November 2023, there were 1,465 proven cases of voter fraud listed in 44 years, an average of 33 cases per year. - Wikipedia What the actual fuck?

Suspiciously absent from the president’s address on voter integrity - no mention of the famous Russia Russia Russia Hoax? For eight long years we heard about this freaking “HOAX!” Now that it’s become politically expedient to have Americans believe that voting has been manipulated who’s hoaxing who?

Things you need when accusing the system of being rigged: 1. a team of competent lawyers 2. a friendly judge or two 3. evidence Sixty cases lost or thrown out and we have this ONE guy who's just going to head-butt reality until every one plays along. Fuck that.

Imagine what they might accomplish if the current administration didn’t waste all of our time and tax dollars trying to find ways around the laws that have already been written using our time and tax dollars by people who actually know what they’re doing.

Trump has his statue of gold. A monument to greed. I support this. I think everyone who crosses that threshold and becomes a billionaire should automatically get a statue of gold. Like a scarlet letter. And every time they crash the economy we should demand a pound of flesh and a pound of gold.

The kids playing army with a trillion dollar budget want to build a fort with your tax dollars. It's going to be totally gnarly man. Most of it will be underground so we'll never know how big it is. They were going to make the tech bros. pay for it but it's so much easier to just rob the poor.

Here’s a thought: When Chuckles The Clown puts his phone in his pocket and steps up to the microphone the way late night TV comics have done since the days of Jack Parr. When the loudest and most offensive celebrity wannabe steps out onto the stage and tells a joke that punches up for once…

…maybe one day when we have a president who doesn’t need to build a bunker to hide in when the crticism starts to sting. Someone who doesn’t hide behind a wall of lawyers and suckups. Someone who’s not afraid of the truth. Here’s a clue: The people aren’t mad at Jimmy Kimmel… …They’re mad at you.

Amazing. I was in middle school when Apollo 11 mission captured the world’s attention. Just a few weeks later Woodstock would prove that half a million people could gather to celebrate peace, love, and music. It was magical. Like we were on the verge of taking a step in the right direction…

…while just behind the curtain a cabal of right wing zealots were compiling an enemies list, sabotaging plans to end hostilities in SE Asia, targeting anyone and anything that might jeopardize their vision of an Orwellian surveillance state. They said we were paranoid. I think we were just woke.

How is this substantially different from Trump’s rhetoric on January 6? In a moment fraught with anger and violence the one guy who’s entrusted with leadership sows the seeds of chaos. “How can I use this anger and mistrust to my own benefit? How can I use the suffering of others to help my cause?
