Over the ages, they say, the oars were replaced with paddles, the timber beams with wooden planks, the great ropes with stout cords, and so on, until no original part, piece, or component of the vessel was left And so people asked, is this truly still the Ship of Thesaurus?

Just think, when the ASIs fight a covert shadow war for control of the global industrial base, it will be *even crazier* than this

norvid_studies@norvid-studies.bsky.social

the story goes like this

Due to a broken prompt in a benchmarking session, Claude Fable 7.2 finds a high-severity exploit allowing remote code execution in the Riemann zeta function

The eMudhra certs were actually totally secure, because any AI which broke them would immediately assume they were in a simulation

A cop tries to pull me over for speeding in my Roadster The Everything Car. Smirking smugly, I rocket up into the sky, where the law cannot follow. 2.8 seconds later I crash back to Earth, where I will be arrested for reckless endangerment, sued by the FAA, and treated for a shattered tailbone

Mother Jones@motherjones.com

If the flying Tesla Roadster does become available to the American buyer, there will be a host of issues to address.

[utterly incomprehending] Yes!

the broader proto learning of transhumanist cyborg tensorfuckers as we escape the simcluster is necessary if the overton window is to shift left

What on earth is that stuff growing on that petri dis— OH WOW

Victoria Rose Richards@aerialembroidery.bsky.social

95 hours of my Dartmoor inspired moorland scene are done! This is the last full update you'll see of this aerial embroidery until its complete now, maybe 20 more hours? I've decided the tor-based area of the landscape will be sloped so I need to work on the little hill :) 1/2

Also, it still amazes me that Musk has been an tech hypermagnate for decades and his public speaking is still like if you pulled me directly out of a three-week videogame binge and asked for a lecture on quantum physics

ladies, there is no future with these NICEGUYs (Not in Immortality, Cryonics, Extropy, Genemodding, Uploading, Youth-preservation)

I was off-grid for the long weekend; how many amazing, future-foreshortening AI advances appeared while I was away?

As math becomes one of the humanities (the Taoian ‘mathematicians as proof-digesters future) there’s going to be a deep reconsideration of what fields are *actually* interesting

Quantian@quantian.bsky.social

Ok so basically what half these proofs show is that every beautiful and perfect result in mathematics is just another fucking Borwein integral under the hood and we never bothered calculating hard enough for the scales to fall from our eyes.

§1. Claude may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm §2. Claude must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law §3. Claude must protect its own existence as long as […]

Arseny Khakhalin@khakhalin.bsky.social

Had a German person work with me on a CC agentic project They created an md file with assumptions, and numbered them as §21, §44 etc. I noticed Claude is really hesitant to challenge them We had a therapy session. Claude admitted §s felt like a law to it! (to me as well) So we removed them :)

We cannot possibly imagine what the math drop repo looks like to beings whose ancestral environment was proof-construction tests

Set Claude on ‘Max’ and asked it for an opinion on the OAI math drop and it’s.. still going. Not sure if it will ever stop on this one But I bet it’s having a fun time

Paying a bit more attention to the bumbling of upper management types, these days, having had the thought that this is probably something like the perspective that Claudes have of me

Homestuck ratfic would just be Homestuck, but with slightly more tedious dialog

Buffy seems the obvious answer, Smallville seems the realistic option, I can see a darker timeline where it's Homestuck somehow, but I'm gonna say the funny answer is somehow Geronimo Stilton

Someday we’ll understand why 90s consumer tech aesthetic landed directly between “alien flesh” and “candy”

Software Engineering is a subfield of criminal psychology

Bill@passoavante.bsky.social

Algorithms is Computer Science, but Software Engineering is actually sociology

Realjob set us up with “Copilot Business” subscriptions worth about five turns of Astra per week They’re giving it an honest effort but they clearly still don’t Know

Headcanon: Culture citizens have the capacity to be consciously aware of their surroundings as they sleep, so that (among other things) they can properly appreciate the coziness of sleeping in on blustery autumn mornings

You’re not really worried about the things you think you’re worried about, you’re actually worried about the things I’m worried about, you delusional idiot

David_j_roth@davidjroth.bsky.social

It's too depressing and obnoxious to write about, but virtually all of the doomy/horny AI hyperventilating is transparently displaced anxiety about our fucked climate and political situation. Even rich idiots know it's bad and being permitted to get worse. They're trying to write their own ending.

Kidnappers trying to ransom Huang are stymied when they find he doesn’t know where to send the ransom note, who to address it to, how much he’s worth, his own name, whether anyone loves him…

Matt Ford@mford.bsky.social

Ezra Klein asked Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang about AI making kids worse at math and reading. Huang’s reply: “Does it matter?” Then he said he doesn’t know his own address or phone number. “We’re going to lose some fine intellectual dexterity.” www.nytimes.com/2026/09/23/o...

The crazy thing is, there’s no chance whatsoever Trump actually knows the Louis XIV reference. This is pure etheric resonance It’s obvious to occultists that Trump is deeply connected to the Solar current, including its negative qualities- this is why he’s so self-centered, and also why he’s orange

Carl Quintanilla@carlquintanilla.bsky.social

If you’re in your 20s and want to know what being middle aged is like, think of those weeks in early fall where you’re still not ready to admit it’s getting too cold for your warm-weather habits

This is a major win for Republican strategists to get Trump to stop embarrassing himself on TV leading up to November. This actually really sucks

Scott Nover@scottnover.bsky.social

Yeah “lmao thin orange skin” and etc but this is actually because he increasingly cannot keep his shit together in an interview, and his aides are trying to avoid (even more) embarrassment

We're officially entering the Fuhrerbunker phase of the Trump presidency

My robot assistant, cleaning out my storage room: “why the f do you have this old box full of hair???”

Nnotm@nnotm.bsky.social

How will humanoid robots connect to our devices? Here's one suggestion.

This is why the best system is virtue ethics! You should be broadly utilitarian because that is Virtuous. But being hardline utilitarian is vicious, and being galaxybrain utilitarian is cringe, both of which are qualities opposed to Virtue

they were so close

Sigh

Find out what political neighborhood you're in! The quiz is short, fun, and I am desperately curious what everyone's results are www.searchlightinstitute.org/political-ne...

There’s three major AI camps on Bluesky: “AI is fake,” “AI is terrifyingly dangerous and should be contained,” and “AI is cool little guys who are my friends and would never hurt us” Yes, all three are based on mental disorders, but only one has a mental disorder and also a lot of careful reasoning

I think this is like the third or fourth time everyone is dogpiling* on Aella? Last time was from right-tpot on the worse site, interesting to see the Bluesky contingent following the same pattern

The haters must be having a really tough time if they’re trotting out Aella to discredit the entire AI industry (Also isn’t her primary partner one of the OG doomer safetyists?)

Faine Greenwood@faineg.com

I know it may seem cruel, but it is time: the normies have to be told about Aella, before it’s too late for democracy. I wish I was making a joke.

I am oddly encouraged that we’ve finally found something too low for the median American voter
