was lowk much easier than i was expecting, didn't even have to remove the liner, just untie it from the tips of the claws, cut (roughly aligned) holes, ladder stitch the bottom, then blanket stitch the top

been a while, been busy i've learned that my cardstock, when laminated, feels very similar to a real card (sleeved), so I've designed a proxy for my lootboxes :3 first time properly working in CMYK as well #furry #protogen #mtgproxy

Just finished refactoring the code (driver, pre-processor) to be more modular and user-friendly. all that's left is writing documentation and instructions, and I'll put it public on GitHub ^^ This will be a cool upgrade for any protogen head with a CoolLEDUX panel, and it costs less than $20

didnt even have to print anything, just popped out one of the gaskets on the face interface out and put everything on that recalibrated the volume limits, did some cable management, and the head is now 100% done!

My goal for this project is a fully modular, user-friendly system of components that's easy to source, fabricate, assemble, maintain, and modify. Coming from *very* little experience with parametric CAD, it will 100% take some learning, and will likely only start after my V1 is fully complete.

Still, I'm excited for when I can eventually start it. At this point, I'm not intimidated by needing to learn new skills for this stuff, and I've got lots of ideas floating around.

(This would require processing the frame data on-device, though, and would need some more components from the code it's derived from. My version only includes the parts necessary to send the pre-processed byte data)

very excited for when I can start working on my own open-source head base (you know that big project I mentioned a while ago?) This is it. It feels like many of the modern advancements with protogen fursuits have been closed-source, which is understandable but unfortunate.

Additionally, since this has proven dynamically sending individual frames to the display over Bluetooth with almost imperceptible delay to be possible, this could theoretically be expanded to use proper rendering with shape keys, with plenty of room for expansion for other sensors and LED control

this has really been full of happy accidents, because moving it to the pi got rid of the input delay, and adjusting the volume bounds with it installed made the lip sync more accurate/expressive โœจ

Pivot has proven to be a lot of work, but very worth it. I've converted everything to MicroPython (w/ swapping Bleak for aioble being the most time-consuming part), and he can now run on a Raspberry Pi Pico 2W. I ordered an I2S microphone chip, should be getting everything done for real next week!

the code is coding! need to tweak a couple of the viseme thresholds probably, and then get him mic'd up and put the code on my phone or something, but for the most part, he is 100% complete ๐Ÿ‘€ tail time

initial battery test very good :D had him running for 4.5 hours and only went down 24%. this should also leave some decent overhead for the LEDs of the armor for the fullsuit eventually, as well as any fans and a raspberry pi if i end up using that for control

few small final tweaks: - vinyl backing on cheek panels to prevent interior light bleed - reattached the voltage controller thingy (green zip tie was not planned) - redid the magnets for the left ear (right) so its more even

i need to get some more super glue in the morning because some of the hot glue keeping the fur on the visor has come off, but that's pretty minor. making the backing was silly because i literally just stuck one of the fins in my printer's photocopier to get a reference

head done!!! (minus a couple small final tweaks and the animation controller) have at least found a repo to base that off of so i dont have to reverse engineer the protocol โœจ #protogen #fursuit #fursuitmaking

at my gate waiting to head home, with my first class of the semester waiting for me at 12:30 lmao megaplex was a lot of fun! awesome roommates and fun interactions. dont have any regrets about how i spent my time definitely want to come back next year if i can!

aaaalmost got the head done but not quite. ran out of time on final assembly before needing to head to the airport will still have my paws, at least. excited for megaplex!

Gave the thing a narrative The world has its cruelties; do not become one of them. Keep going. It's going to be okay. It is good to be principled, but it is better to be humane. Second chances are deserved, but third chances must be earned. You don't need to believe; just don't stop moving forward.

anyone know what it's called when you're sleep deprived and the constant stream of intrusive thoughts turns off and the only things in there are the intentional ones done a few all-nighters the past few months, and it's something i've noticed, and am very fascinated by
