I had to partition out 50 gb from macOS, then go to asahi, now I'm in the process of deleting that same unallocated memory and resizing the amount of storage I have allocated for asahi.

I have had to learn how to delete a partition after the first failed attempt. I was a bit nervous because the guide was like DON'T DELETE THIS PARTITION because that's REALLY BAD and I'm like double checking to see I'm not deleting system recovery or something lol

Feels like in a functioning democracy you shouldn't be thinking "it's either status quo (evil) or THIS IS REAALY REALLY BAD IF THIS PERSON WINS OH GODOHHOD IT LOOKS LIKE THEY MIGHT WIN OHNNO (also evil)"

Took me several minutes to find the restart button! And I'm trying to get into the boot menu so the USB can do its magic, but it won't restart until the windows updates are installed, so now I'm waiting for that, but it's not showing me the progress bar and—

Clearly, it's not the "science" that I don't trust, it's the social basis of that science. Further, there's no state-mandated push for everyone to get vaccinated. It's quite literally on the onus of the individual to get vaccinated on their own time. Why is this not a mandatory thing? It should be!

This is all to say, socialize and nationalize the pharmacies and biotech production; make vaccination mandatory; explain why it's necessary through better education, etc. The fact that we don't do this is the reason there's a general fascistic revolt against science. Socialism or sickness, etc.

I think this worry is ultimately rooted in the fact that production and distribution of vaccines is done by capital, by corporations. The pharmacy that distributes the vaccine is a private pharmacy (Shoppers), the company (Moderna) is a biotech company.

Why should I expect private capital to be in the interest of public good? Clearly, most of the time, it's not. In this case, there is a tenuous connection that Moderna or Shoppers won't make profit if their vaccine doesn't work, but I'm supposed to trust them on that basis?

I am personally tempted to rationalize anti-vaccination as "stupid people being stupid." But I, personally, felt a great deal of hesitation about going to the pharmacy. And I kept on asking myself "why am I nervous?" I'm not an anti-vaxxer, clearly. So why?

I understand the science at a layman's level, I know why it's important. I'm not afraid of needles. It might be because I've been "infected" by the nervous worry of my family, but I doubt it.

Thoughts: I believe that anti-vaxx is such a dominant part of the culture that it's almost inesapable. I did not tell my doctor, nor did I tell my (very explicitly anti-vaxx) family about this. I think this strain of thought is a symptom of fascism, which is a byproduct of capitalism.

Feels like we're seeing Fascism and Social Revolution play out in real-time in Toronto. Our current mayor is an ineffectual liberal, and the dude running against her is a blatant fascist. And there's a decent chance the city goes fascist because the fundamental contradictions aren't being resolved.

No one can afford to live here, the government is spending all our surplus labour on military and finance capital while shedding its public sector like dead skin, people are crying out for change. But since social-democracy and liberalism doesn't offer any answer, a regressive social form arises

It puts my whole job search struggle in perspective. Like, no actually, it's not my fault I can't find any good work—the only money that's being spent right now is on imperialism.
