If the billionaire oligarchs don’t destroy all of humanity via war and nuclear armageddon; if AI doesn’t; if all the other ways humanity could end don’t happen, then climate change will be there waiting patiently. Our timeline is undoubtedly doomed.

The VA, for reasons unknown to me, messed-up my mental health prescriptions and I’ve been without for going-on a week now. I am really starting to feel the effects as it seems to have now completely funneled out of my system.

Serious question: at what point do we start advocating for people to vote in-person versus via mail? It seems pretty obvious, by this point, that the safety and integrity of mail-in voting is going to be in question during the upcoming mid-terms.

So… just to make sure I am understanding this right… … the US Congress can subpoena you to testify before them and if you choose to use your constitutional rights you can be held in contempt and possibly even imprisoned? WTF kinda of government is that?

Struggling with whether I am a still a plain, old Democrat or a Democratic Socialist of America… … the more I learn about the latter, the more intrigued I become. As such, it’s a very confusing time for me personally right now as I sort through all this.

I’ve finally reached the point where I’ve just given up. Humanity is doomed one way or another (probably climate change that will kill us all in the end), so might as well enjoy what time is left. It’s depressing, but it is what it is—nothing I can do to change what is inevitable at this point.

My best guess about what might happen tonight is that Trump is in and out before a majority of the ticket-holders even make through security to be seated.

The United States Military only wants your service if you’re a white, male, heterosexual Christian. You can still “serve,” of course, but your career will stagnate at a certain point, and you’ll be consistently ostracized and ridiculed if you fall into any other category.

For what it’s worth, my opinion on recent Republican/GOP/MAGA elections is that they demonstrate an unpopular party that is shrinking in size and as a result moving farther and farther right.

If one takes it as true that Republicans are shedding voters due to, well, everything they’ve done so far and what they want to do; then as the party shrinks the farther, harder right they’ll become. Thus creating a perpetual feedback loop.

America didn’t turn shitty because he became President. He became President because America was already this shitty. That’s the uncomfortable truth that nobody wants to admit.

My belief is that there is more than enough taxes in America-- we're just spending all that money in the wrong places. I spent 20 years in the US Army, trust me when I tell you that the military does not need or deserve $1.5 trillion, or even half of that... or even half of that half.

Every time I have solid response to something I seemingly always, without fail, just royally fuck-up either the grammar, spelling, or both.

One of two possibilities: (1) knowing the war would be lopsided, Iran led the Americans into believing they had uncontested air superiority, then, when least suspected, they started downing US air power; or, (2) they were recently resupplied by someone with something.

The upper class, but especially the oligarchs, view those “below them” as nothing more than mere laborers and canon fodder for their wars. As soon as AI is capable enough they’ll surely care less about how the middle and lower class even survive at all.

The only reason most Americans believe America to be number one in everything and best place in the world is because most Americans have never travelled overseas to a country like Japan or the Netherlands to see what is even possible.

In my humble opinion, failure in Iran is not achieving, at a minimum, ALL of the following: an open Strait of Hormuz; seized nuclear material; and, regime change. Otherwise, what was the point at all then—with all the destruction, death, and damage to the worldwide economy?
