Isles Buzz

SHOOTOUT WIN! IN THIS ECONOMY?OMG! VARLY FIRST W SINCE RETURNING! #ISLES

The worst 4-on-3 powerplay I’ve ever seen 🫣 #Isles

#Isles are going to spend almost all of this OT a man up. Have to win!

Why does Bridgestone Arena own us?????????? #Isles

Bad D, wake up! #Isles

I do not enjoy watching Brayden Schenn play in the d-zone. #Isles

BO SCOREVAT ONE TIMER!!!!!! Schaefer with a great pass to set him up. #Isles

Secondary scoring! #Isles

#Isles are so good at ruining your Sunday. Way to show up for you Coach in his return, boys!

Schenn makes up for his earlier mistake! 3-3. #Isles hanging around.

Everytime I call him washed! Palmieri!!!! 2-2 #Isles

#Isles keep it tied for all of 2 seconds. Schenn with a horrific turnover and doesn’t fight to get it back. Weak. Not good enough from a “good for the locker room” veteran. Come on

MATTHEW SCHAEFER!!!!!! Flys down the wing and roofs one. Assist by the captain. He’s so good. Unreal! #Isles

Sorokin has to have that. #Isles

Can’t possess the puck all overtime. Lose 3-2. Points in 5-straight, but that loss stings. Good to see them fight back after being down 0-2. #Isles really miss #13 in OT.

Eklund line has been fantastic tonight. #Isles

Hasn’t been perfect, but #Isles have 35 shots halfway through the 3rd period. I like that volume. Keep it up!

MATTHEW SCHAEFER SNIPEEEEEEEEEE #Isles

EKLUND!!!! He’s been a standout tonight. The kid has the juice. 1-2 #Isles

I’m not having fun #Isles

Random thought I had from these pictures: We're starting to see NHL teams wear color helmets with their away uniforms and I think the #Isles would be able to pull of that look. Thoughts?

I did not like this interview by Darche. Comes across as if management feels Mathew Barzal is ready to ramp up and join the team, but Barzal himself does not feel like his body is ready. That puts your best forward under a lot of pressure. Seems like something that was best left unsaid. #Isles

#Isles win! DeBoer effect was in full force as they shut down the Ducks for the majority of the game. The better team won tonight! Points in 4 straight. Let’s keeping rolling. 🦞

Please don’t #Isles

A really strong abbreviated powerplay by the #Isles at the beginning of the 2nd. Not afraid to move the puck with pace and shoot! More of that please.

Superstar. Has the poise of a 15-year veteran. #Isles

HOLMY TIP ON THE PP!!!! #Isles awake in the 1st. Simon heating up.

Eklund!!! Get ready to burn year one of that entry level deal! #Isles

Not the first time this year. UBS Arena has been struggling with attendance #Isles

Pride night at @ubsarena.bsky.social arena! #Isles

Really unfortunate news for two players both looking to take big steps this season. #Isles

DeBoer says that there's no expediting Barzal's return-to-play program because two players went down. Asked if there was a timetable on when he could return to practice. DeBoer said no. #Isles

Chaffee called up. Romanov to IR. #Isles

Darche is in Hamilton today. Expect a forward to be called up afterwards. #Isles

Just a no quit effort in the face of adversity! Loved that effort by the #Isles even though injuries are starting to mount yet again.

No snark tonight. Great, gutsy performance by the Islanders in the face of two top nine forwards going down in the first period. Really came together to earn those two points. Feeling very proud right now.

Simon Holmstrom……… it may be time for an uncomfortable conversation. #Isles

#Isles lose 2-1 in the shootout. Didn’t deserve anything from this game. Will take the 1-point. Time to SHUFFLE the lines.

DeBoer benched Ritchie and Eklund for half of the 3rd period and all of OT. Sending a message to his young guys. The result: some of the worst 3 on 3 lines you’re ever going to see in an NHL overtime. #Isles even escaped a 4 on 3 powerplay after being caught in their own zone. Ugly, sloppy night.

#Isles head to OT for the first time this season. It’s Schaefer time. This is one area where Barzal is sorely missed.

Love his physicality. Not afraid to throw the body around at just 5’ 11” #Isles

Feels like Schaefer is out there by himself tonight #Isles

Everyone being shuffled around except the guy who needs it the most #Isles

Ritchie is having a really rough night. #Isles

#Isles have now taken 3 really bone-headed penalties this period. Not a recipe for success.

#Isles coasting in the d-zone and its 1-1

It’s called a helmet, Tony D 🙄 #Isles
