Dude's never heard of Naguib Mahfouz or Mahmoud Darwish in his life. Nor apparently the several Muslim-Americans who have won the Nobel prize in science.

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

So, you're telling me the guy who makes fun of "scooter people," like a retired grandma—who probably got out of a movie at a mall after the other stores closed, but needed to get past a rope to the exit w/o stairs so she could make the last bus home—is a cheating POS? Never woulda guessed.

This PHP exploit is still playing havoc with a ton of things. Some are still doing live maintenance and just boot me out mid-session multiple times. Some are forcing password resets (fair). Some are still offline (fair). And them for some authentication is just totally broken, lol.

There iis nothing more annoying than a Corsair keyboard deciding iit wants to just start chatterriingg unless you install iCue (whiich causes FPS problems on my second monitor). Yeah, my nextt kkeyboard ain't ggoiing to be a Corsair, II'll ttell you that.

I liked Carrie overall, especially modernizing it with things like cyberbullying. However, I did not like the addition of a certain character, one C or D plot that came out of nowhere, how it shied away from some of its messaging, some extra deaths, and the ending in general.

I "finished" Legion. Quotes, because I have not finished the Illidan quest due to the lockouts causing it to take several runs. Seriously, would it kill the devs to change it from 1000 to like 100 so people doing it as legacy can finish in one lockout? Hell (Helya), just remove lockouts for legacy.

I'd rather it had been tied to only Felwood. Otherwise, what was the point of that zone and the satyr there. It's okay. I know there's an audience for people who just like "Champions" against the great big evil forces with the rare and occasional nuanced characters in the IP like Illidan and Grom.

But I'm past that now. As far as other systems go, Legion shows the devs learned from WoD's garrison failures. And the zones are not utterly inundated with world event vomit like Dragonflight. (DF gives a lot for casual players to do, but I hope you like the Iskaara event as a cooking enthusiast.)

However, Legion seems to have been the start of crafting recipes being annoying to acquire, and it doesn't seem like they have learned from that through Midnight. I'm more interested in targeted mat acquisition and crafting enjoyment derived from strategy. Not praying for a random fucking drop.

I get that it was going to come back, because TBC never resulted in its ultimate defeat. But it really should have finished then. But Blizzard loves its never ending forces of evil. And, from what I can tell, The Void is just the new Legion... not literally, but it's a similar vibe.

Val'sharah was also cool as a druid. I'm not sure how it feels as another class. However, without Tyande and illidan, Malfurion is so uninteresting. That said... Xavius? They can't decide on the corrupting forces of the satyr. In Felwood, it's the Legion. Then it's the Old Gods. Then it's both.

But the story is better than every other xpac's, IMO. Okay, I think it's not up to par w/ the worst of XIV's xpacs, because Sargeras is the most boring villain in the history of fantasy storytelling. And I'm not impressed by Kil'jaeden or Archmonde, despite the attempt to make them multidimensional.

That said, I genuinely like Suramar's story, other than the fact Elisande throws her lot in with you as she dies and then that's just... it. I also like Illidan's and Velen's characterizations. But I find Xe'ra's whole IT'S YOUR DESTINY thing dull. And the Legion as a force is kinda lame.

Anyway, verdict: It's all right. Some people proclaim it to be the best WoW xpac ever. I can't speak to game play in raiding or dungeons, because I was just one-shotting everything and its technically Midnight mechanics now anyway. I have no idea what artifact weapons were like either.

I'm curious what researchers working on the effects of anti-convulsants have to say about Keppra, because reading the brain cancer or epilepsy subreddits, you'd think 75% of people get "Kepprage," and yet it's the first line treatment. I assume it's more like maybe 1-2% and gen psychiatric is more?

On a different #disability note from my previous thread, it turns out the electric wheelchair my aunt acquired—because the person she bought her new house from didn't want to take it with them after they sold—is right-hand controlled.

Anyway, this is why people have multiple aids. And I'm glad there's a lucky solution the same as the rollator I got from my uncle before he passed. That way I can avoid the DME frequency limit and stingy and annoying prior authorization BS.

I mean, if I'm just buying something small and light, a cane and my backpack on my own is fine. Or if I'm going to the store down the street, the rollator is fine. And I can bring the rollator for hours-long social things when I need to sit or rest. I've done that for sports events and concerts.

But buying groceries from the store 1.5 miles away, or going somewhere where the transit stop(s) are a mile away from each destination with no good way to finish the route other than walking or a wheelchair, scooter or whatever... it's kinda what I think I need.

I'm doing it because my parents are getting older. My dad is in his upper-mid 70s, albeit fit for his age (he gets his walk in w/ the dog). And my mom is in her late 60s, but she has not exercised other than daily living since retiring. Work was her exercise before.

I'm also an only child and currently single (and grayromantic, so it's not like relationships come easy). And I don't want to burden friends or neighbors who have their own lives and worries. I want to reserve that for when I truly need the help.

I've told her I'm interested in it. I can use it in the case I'd need to do something I can't realistically do w/ just a physical aid. I *can* use my rollator for carrying things like a couple bags of groceries short distances, or to keep things flat, but not long distance. ATM, my dad helps.

The downside is... repairs wouldn't be covered, and I don't know what sort of battery it has. It's definitely something I'm considering for airport navigation and unknown excursions, in any case. I'm going to have to read through the manual and check its condition.

Steam Input makes accessibility for games with gaps in support a whole lot more playable. Assuming you can actually launch the game through Steam by adding it as a non-Steam game, that is. Next step is getting used to playing FPSes with the MMO mouse. My muscle memory is putting up some resistance!

Some games where aim assist isn't a factor can't combine gamepad and mouse controls too. Auto-swapping is a nuisance. Overwatch flashes both types of controls every possible refresh as you use both. LT, no wait right click, no wait LT. Oof. At least WoW seems to be taking a page from FFXIV.

Looking forward to playing games I put off until I properly configured my setup. Hopefully I won't lose my left thumb for some time. Not sure what I'd do then. I've already lost fine motor in my middle finger for both LT and LB. I can at least flip the bird still, however.

I'm glad I didn't have to purchase reWASD, which apparently gets flagged by most anti-cheat software anyway. It's like.. simulating WASD isn't even an advantage over smooth stick movement in the first place, and you chose to put aim assist for controllers in crossplay anyway?

I found out my healthcare wouldn't cover a hemiplegic manual wheelchair. The only thing I can get is an electric wheelchair, which doesn't satisfy my need to exercise outside and would dip into my DME funding and make it so I have to buy all of my other DME out-of-pocket for 5 years.

I mean, an electric chair would allow me to do some things I can't easily do or do at all. But it doesn't solve the outdoor get-my-vitamin-D-while-exercising problem. Especially since my PT advised against walking for exercise.

Walkers don't keep all of us totally stable, because reflexively bracing with one arm isn't exactly safe (it can tip the walker). The weak leg can also become too fatigued using a cane or walker, but the good arm can still go on wheels! Using a backpack can make the weak shoulder worse.

The way hemiparetic and hemiplegic people are treated is atrocious. The SSA is okay about it, because they consider simply the number of limbs, meaning both para- and hemi- people are afforded similar considerations. But on a healthcare level? WTF?
