Porting Gnoster into ER has allowed us to do something very fun with DS3's Giant Door Shield.

ELDEN RING Reforged@erreforged.com

🌟ELDEN RING Reforged 2.3.6.0🌟 A modestly-sized update with a few new player tools, a more accommodating default difficulty, and familiar feelings from around the franchise that, somehow, feel right at home. A good time to jump into our online server. erreforged.com

🌟ELDEN RING Reforged 2.3.5.0 🌟 Venture into the lightless reaches beneath Siofra River to challenge the Sovereign Eternal and witness the fate of a lost, young Silver Tear. Further, bring an end to the Gaping Jaw's ceaseless hunger, beneath the snow. erreforged.com

Deep beneath the soil, a buried kingdom lies, trapped in time. What purpose kept these fallen cities so eternal, their denizens' gaze raised staunchly in defiance? Amidst stagnation and ruin, sparks of hope yet linger; treasures that promise redemption to a lost people.

@illusorywall.bsky.social Apparently there's a sweet spot mechanic in the Souls games and I've never heard about it in my life until now?? Sounds like something that needs an episode from you. People are divided on whether it's timing-based or positioning-based, and online info is very scarce.

Since it came up on Reddit and I observed it myself trying to port her outfit to ER before: Recluse is SIGNIFICANTLY slimmer than the Tarnished, and so even a chest of identical size would be considered a much higher cup size on her. So I'm afraid this isn't quite right.

Zullie@zulliethewitch.bsky.social

So someone asked me to check and from what I can tell, Recluse's chest is seemingly not really any bigger than the Elden Ring player model's. It's all presentation, she just leans back and has a bit of lift in her bustline. We can easily see this by loading the other model on top of her.

Further Codex improvements: You may now sort entries alphabetically, which eschews taxological and variant-based sorting for a simpler way to find the entries you need. There is also a new setting for viewing only the lore page, without the stats, to soak in the newly added writings and images.

The Codex of the All-Knowing has long revealed attributes , strengths and weaknesses of all the world's foes, but come the next update, you may also enjoy a picture and brief lore flavor text with each entry, thanks to the efforts of contributor Throngler and others.

One of the features of the upcoming update: New graphics for sorcery scrolls! Like each incantation scroll has a uniquely textured, detailed parchment scroll expressing the school's identity, sorceries in Reforged will soon receive the same treatment. A passion project by team member Pine.

🌟ELDEN RING Reforged Update 1.4.8🌟 A new boss, multiple new playstyle options, and the Reforged-exclusive ability to perform critical hits with your off-hand weapon, for the dual wielders and shieldbearers among us. Update 1.4.8 is now live!

When bringing the v1.02 files of Morgott's intro cutscene to the current version of the game, everything appears as it should. However, when you enable Raytracing, suddenly the cutscene grinds to a halt at 2 FPS. I imagine this to be the real reason for the change; a bandaid fix for the poor RT.

To clarify, the framerate drop is specifically when the VFX (burning rubble, smoke) appear which were removed in v1.03. So, particularly those parts which affect performance, are also the same ones that were changed.

I am quite curious about those little icons on the landmarks in the Nightreign map. One is the icon for the Fire weapon affinity, the other is the icon for the Death Blight status. What are they signifying? Are they about enemies you encounter, or rewards you receive?

Looking for ways that the Torch is utilized in ELDEN RING, I found a location behind Caria Manor that checks whether you have the Torch equipped, upon which it reveals a hidden enemy. The enemy has since been cut, but in the 1.0 version of the map, it's revealed to be a scarab with Chilling Mist.

The same scarab is now relocated to the ruins nearby and no longer has special requirements for viewing it, but in 1.00 it used to require equipping a torch to see it.

It is sort of curious that this appears to be the only place in the game that you wearing a torch is actually relevant, outside of the special Sentry's Torch.

Ack, I've made myself scarce here; truth be told, despite me following lots and lots of people who share my interest, I've not really reliably had cool and relevant content delivered to my porch. Followed a million JP artists, and yet there's no art, just EN banter. Huh...

What I expect of ELDEN RING lore discourse, loretuber videos etc. moving forward. Clear statements of non-canonicity are unlikely to penetrate tinfoil or stop somebody from drawing up an unhinged mind map.

Hopping on HL2DM for the first time in a billion years and I'm reminded of how everyone & their dog called the Unreal Tournament announcer "Quake sounds". It never went away...

The Future Press guide for ELDEN RING Shadow of the Erdtree also continues to call the NPC miniboss "Blackgaol Knight" despite him being fully renamed to "Knight of the Solitary Gaol" in-game. Another indicator that Future Press isn't an official source.

Looks like the enemy type we've called Catacombs Sorcerer is named "Catacomb Conjurer" in the Future Press guide. Not sure why, given that it uses the same words for "Catacomb" and "Sorcerer" that are respectively used in "Catacombs Skeleton" and "Glintstone Sorcerer"...

I can only say, that what you all are doing is absolutely amazing. You have addressed a few problems I had with the main game and the addition of parrying made a lot of the fights much more enjoyable. Not to mention the new affinities, for example. Thank you for your work πŸ™

We could have been in the timeline where this became Minecraft's aesthetic. Given the Notch revelations, I wonder how much of a bullet the artist dodged...

A lot of metaposting about the platform switch. For those worried about it: there's probably cross-posting/aggregator apps to be found where you can keep your Bluesky/Mastodon/Twitter feeds synced and post to all of them. That way, you don't need to feel like you're losing out.

Seeing some people with just straight up their domain name as a handle, while also maintaining a website on that domain. Wonder what the secret is; only forwarding /xrpc/ to the PDS?

Alright, I was highly overestimating the effort; you just follow the instructions on the website. Seems to actually be unrelated to having your own PDS. Hm...

Does "things I like for algorithm" actually work? - Game dev - General dev (C#, .NET, TypeScript, Node.js...) - ELDEN RING - Unreal (Tournament) - Modding & datamining - Godot - Visual novels - Anime, manga, JP art - Touhou - D&D - Used to be World of Warcraft, FFXIV, PSO2 NGS, Ragnarok Online...

ELDEN RING: This whole time, Glintstone Sorcerers had a fully finished Carian Slicer move, including followup attacks. It is deactivated by their AI, so it doesn't happen ingame, but enabling it is trivial in modding.
