American libs know tradesmen only as hypothetical people who support Trump and make bad financial decisions.
Talked to an HVAC guy who's working two jobs to pay rent. He has no savings and worries about retirement. Tariffs have made it hard for him to import parts. Then this big strong guy who never cries, he said, he said to me, "I just wish Trump's signature was on the dollar." Then he burst out crying.
An unfortunate statistic for those insisting food prices are going up: they have consistently been falling as a percentage of income, with rises mainly coming from eating out. You can have your avocado toast; just cook it yourself, you lazy bums.
Americans are waking up to how INSANE food prices have gotten. He orders 2 soups, 2 grilled cheese sandwiches, and 1 other sandwich at Panera Bread — then stares at the total: $71. For soup and sandwiches. Panera Bread is owned by a private equity firm.
What ever will we do without late night talking head #14? Probably watch whatever show he starts on a different network / online.

Most people have the political awareness of a flea or other small insect. Almost everyone cares about other people and want what's best for them. Politics is disagreeing about what's best for people. It's often more difficult than you think to disentangle self-interest from altruism.

We need to stop the flow of funds to the far right and level our political playing field before we become as corrupt as the US money circus. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/72...
As someone who is against capital punishment, I condemn both the recent attack on Israeli diplomats and also the actions described below. If you view the events differently, I suggest you reflect on why that is.
In 1938, a stateless Jewish teenager in Paris named Herschel Grynszpan went into the German embassy and shot a diplomat from the Nazi regime. He was arrested and disappeared. The Nazis used this action as the pretext for Kristallnacht, the most famous pogrom in history.
Destroying the most basic low-level ecosystem on the planet in the name of getting more minerals? What could go wrong? I suppose at least it might cut down on our use of African slaves. A better solution would be to stop putting out new iPhones every year.
Commercial mining on the Pacific Ocean floor came one step closer to reality with an announcement late Tuesday by the U.S. Interior Department that it would evaluate a request from a California-based company to extract metals off the coast of American Samoa.
I hate the farming lobby so much. You can't just call a random benefit UBI and doing so discredits the actual concept of UBI.
Delighted to be able to support the #UBI for Farmers campaign and organise some useful meetings for them. Important for #FoodSecurity and fixing our broken #FoodSystem, doing such damage to #PublicHealth

I've finally figured out what pissed me off the most about this "ban music on busses" thing. These people don't even care about the music. They've just made up a rule that "music shouldn't be played on busses" and they're angry at people for breaking the rule even though they don't mind the music.
The worst part about this is that it's all fake. I know you're perfectly capable of hearing noises and not caring about them. You've just got it in your head that music is rude so now you are annoyed at people for breaking a rule that you made up, rather than because they're actually doing anything.
People obsessed with manners are always the first to infantilise those they disagree with. So many people expect to be respected, but are not willing to respect others.
That's what every child thinks when told they can't have sweets because they are bad for their teeth. But luckily, their parents know better. Not being rude, just right.
