Had a great time joining Michigan Public's 'Issues & Ale' panel in Lansing yesterday! My fellow journalists and I discussed Ohio and Michigan's U.S. Senate, gubernatorial, congressional races, and much more. We also took some election questions from our engaged audience members.

Politics & Policy | Both of Ohio's top gubernatorial contenders — Democrat Amy Acton and Republican Vivek Ramaswamy — support the state's 90-day gas tax suspension, which lawmakers approved late last month.

But given the $700 million+ price tag, amount of competing priorities, and limitations of a gas tax suspension — was it still worth doing? During our interview last Friday, Acton's running mate, David Pepper, shared his thoughts.

A cocktail of frustration over persistent high prices, an ongoing war in the Middle East, and the Trump administration's immigration posture has expanded the midterm map in ways that — up until recently — were thought to be improbable.
