If you follow for the photos, more are coming soon, it's just that time of year where I have to confront existential threats towards my continued existence

We're fighting 4chan nazis and you're worried about being too concerned about human rights.

If you want a more leftist candidate, primary for one. When they win we’ll call them unelectable anyway, maybe run the mainstream dem who lost as an independent.

When it does last and they endorse other candidates acuse them of betraying the party. When those candidates win, call them an insurgency.

But you know, wherever that happened wasn’t real America anyway. Until it happens someplace else, then they also aren’t real America.

If you want a more leftist candidate, primary for one. When they win we’ll call them unelectable anyway, maybe run the mainstream dem who lost as an independent.

When they win again, refuse to back them, wonder aloud how badly they’ll fail when in office. When they don’t fail and are popular, question how long it will last.

Let's gamble: my roll of Kodak Ektachrome from my Holga is ready for development. I expect this roll to be absolute trash, but who knows?

So all you motherfuckers that said that you saw us trans people and would stand with us, where are you at? It’s feeling real fucking lonesome.

Vote blue no matter who for transphobes but not for socialists or anyone with an Arab name. That's going too far.

This year's Monopoly game at McDonalds is so recession-coded. What do you mean the food prizes are worth $1.50? What can you even buy at McDonalds for a $1.50?

I think that trans mortality is so normalized that almost no one considers us when it comes to aging.

I keep asking what people expect elderly trans people to do if their care is banned from federal funding. Or poor trans people. Or trans prisoners. Or trans kids. I thought we all learned the extent that everything is federally funded after DOGE, but apparently not.

As far as voting for Turek, I’ve never said not to vote for him. I’ve talked about what defunding gender affirming care actually means and who it hurts. That discussing a policy he introduced is somehow taken as trans people ratfucking his candidacy reflects just how little allyship seems to matter.

We as trans people can’t be so inconsequential for the policy to not matter, but consequential enough that trans people not voting for Turek would single handedly cost him the election.

There is a difference between being a single issue voter and a self interested one. Someone who is dependent on trans care is not “single issue” because a politician wants to take it away from them. They are responding to an existential threat to their personhood.

That we can’t even advocate for ourselves without harms directly targeting us being minimized as electioneering shows just how little trans issues are understood despite the hatred we receive.

Remember when Ta-Nehisi Coates spoke about the morality of supporting Palestine and Ezra Klein responded with concern about Democratic support? The way I'm seeing people defend Turek, especially to trans people, shows me that so many of you did not get what Coates was talking about.

I could write it in metaphor, someone mutilated by the mob in hopes of good crops, and the horror that person realizes when they are seen as a monster for trying to escape that doom. But if I say it more literally, that you are asking for trans bodies to be sacrificed for politics, it does not land.

Banning federal funds for all trans care isn’t some blasé minor inconvenience. It’s elderly trans people being unable to maintain the care they’ve had for decades. It’s hospital networks dropping care to avoid being blacklisted from grants and subsidized insurance. Its support services ending.

Imagine you’re a trans Medicaid patient in long-term care. Your nursing home refuses HRT because your care’s funded by fed dollars. Depending on what your transition consisted of, you’re now faced with forced detransition or your body’s systems going out of whack from having no primary sex hormone.

That is the “lesser evil” you are asking trans Iowans to vote for. I need you to own that before you call them selfish.

Said it before and I'll say it again: you can't have universal healthcare if any random treatment can become politicized and subject to exclusion. That's abortion, access to medical transition, and any medicine it becomes en vogue to hate on, like GPL-1s.

No, you won't hold these politicians accountable to not be transphobic when they're in office because YOU HAVEN'T DONE IT FOR YEARS! WE'VE HEARD YOU SAY IT AND YOU NEVER DO IT! YOU GUYS DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING!

You'd think people would bother to learn about how people transition with how much they talk about trans people.

Farm on film - Back and Whites Olympus Trip MD5 | Ilford HP5 Plus #photography #blackandwhitephotography #filmphotography #ilfordhp5plus

One day my son will go to college or otherwise leave the house, and on that day Apple, the petty bitch, will show him as a two year old in the random photo widget I foolishly put on my Home Screen.

Trying out the 120 medium format film with a Holga, and man I hate it. Take me back to the promise land of 35mm film where loading is relatively straightforward. Also, assuredly wrecking this first roll of film, but that doesn't matter, I don't know WTF I'm doing so it's expected.

Anger Party outraged by mailer sent by Anger Party about thing to be angry about. "I just wish they'd just leave us alone and keep it to themselves" said long-time Anger Party voter Susan Falls of the mailer sent out by her own party. "They just keep pushing in our faces."

DeMoCrAtS sHoULd aVoiD SoCiAL iSsUeS! Republicans are sending out mailers claiming to be trans students who want to emancipate kids. Stop ducking the fade or you're gonna get swept.

You can feel the AI in everything as a dev because every app and service you use is randomly broken far more frequently. You know that it's because code reviews and QA got thrown into the trash because you've had those meetings too.

Oh no, the 5 pack of film I bought was 120 medium format! Dang, guess I don't have a choice but to scrounge up a Holga.

We had a decade of media mergers that seemed predicated on the idea that tech, with their shit ton of cash on hand and good credit ratings, would come through and buy. Then AI happened and all the tech companies are in debt with no free cash. And no mega-buyer for deeply indebted media companies.

There's something about the film advance crank on the Canon AE-1. It's just so tactical and satisfying, captures the shooter feeling of photography in ways I haven't experienced in a camera before.

My grandmother lived to be 99 years old, her mother 101. I aspire to be something simple and radical at the same time: a long-lived woman of trans experience.

I started to play around with Koloristika on my iPhone because they advertise a full mono RAW processing pipeline that outputs at 16 bit depth. Compared to the 12-bit color output of Apple’s processing pipeline, I’m impressed.

These are both Lightroom edits, first the Mono pipeline, second the same app’s color output with mono applied in post. There’s better graduation in the Mono output, better shadow recovery. Makes the camera feel new in a way I’ve been waiting for from Apple for some time.

Somewhere in Texas, a trans kid has heard exactly what their family thinks of trans people and now has to quietly deal with the ramifications. Someone sacrificed an unknown number of trans kids on the alter of Ken Paxton.

Republicans turning to blood libel against trans people doesn’t surprise me, it’s an obvious escalation of their anti-trans fervor. What disturbs me is how people don’t recognize it as blood libel nor what call to action is being proposed when a group of people become a “problem” to be “solved.”

I was talking to some coworkers the other day about universal 2K, and how when NYC manages to establish it, it becomes a matter of time for NY State, NJ, and CT to match.

The rumors are true. Coming soon to a neighborhood near you...12,000 2-K seats!

I've got three rolls of film to drop off for development, two from a camera I've never shot on before. So, lots of anticipation for how all of that turns out.
