“Let’s start from the Database Schema” is the best way to create terrible software If you also model the business logic on how the DB is shaped, you are asking for suffering in Impedance mismatch hell

99% of problems you think are technical are actually organizationals problems Organizational problems cannot be solved by tools, only softened. Like a painkiller AI is a tool So….

If your tool installs agent hooks or skills without asking: I HATE YOU If it installed them globally instead of locally or asking I REALLY HATE YOU If it does and doesn't even tell you what is installed and where SERIOUSLY, FUCK YOU

MediaPipe is a ton of fun Me and my son used it to control home automation with gestures to change light colors and the tv volume, is surprisingly easy to make good UX for these things

Background music helps me focus, but I always forget to start it. I made a tiny app that detects when nothing is playing for 5 minutes and asks if I want to start. My favorite part is that it triggers when I unlock the Mac so it's the first thing I see.

Switching back to physical books. Not because Kindle is bad, but because my son can't tell the difference between me reading and me scrolling. From his perspective, it's dad staring at another screen. Little things with big impacts.

Life hack: When I don't feel like doing an automation, I start doing it in n8n. Then I feel miserable debugging inputs in n8n, and doing it from scratch becomes fun in comparison
