This morning, I bit in to a York peppermint patty, but instead of getting any magical sensation or being whisked away to some beautiful or majestic setting, I ended up doing door duty at the IHSS lobby at Eastmont mall in East Oakland. Is there someone at York I can write a letter to or something?

I don’t have any followers or influence… but… is there a way to tell #apple that the clear setting for icons on #ios for #iphone is cool, but it would be even better if the notifications remained bright red. The little blue dot next to the app name for newly updated apps is still blue. Give me red.

In a show of solidarity, I will also not be broadcasting on the last night of Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show. I won’t be broadcasting at any other time either since I’m a nobody, but especially on that night.

April 21st is apparently Big Word Day. Seems like they could have come up with a better way to embody that concept. If you ask me, it's a bit incrongruous (see what I did there). Happy Tuesday, everyone!

Was at the Taco Bell drive-thru the other night (I know, shocking) and after I paid at the window the dude asked if I could back up a full car length until he gave me a signal because he didn't want to get dinged for auto-tracked untimely service. I complied out of respect for gaming the system.

It's National Fart Day and National Pork Rind Day. Perfect. It’s also National Shower with a Friend Day. WTF. It’s also Disaster Day (I think they mean the weather variety, but currently… I think the metaphoric variety works better). February 5th… what are you doing? Get your shit together, mate.

In the continuing saga of the Dungeon Crawler Carl Series… I have started Book 3. Our heroes (now a party of 4) find themselves at the start of Level 4. At the end of Book 2, Princess Donut has a very short but gut-punch heavy line where you think, “How did so few words pack so much power?” Superb.

I’m not the biggest fan of cats (mostly because of allergies and litter boxes)… so who would have thought we’d see the day where I own not one, but two pieces of cat-themed apparel? The exceptional charm of Princess Donut eviscerates all animal prejudices. Happy Tuesday, everyone!

“We use a wrapping paper louder than you can imagine any paper could possibly sound, and then we put that wrapped drop into a bag that is somehow even louder. That way, if you reach for a drop at 1am, every living soul in your household will know about it.” - HALLS, probably.

This is the 2nd office chair where I have somehow DESTROYED the arm supports. Must be my absolute shredded forearms. I’m just TOO manly (said nobody about Jake ever).

Take a little bit of John Wick, Leon the Professional, and Monsters Inc (if it were made by Guillermo del Toro). And then a splash of Amelie. And that is a little movie called Dust Bunny with Mads Mikkelsen. It was a delight.

The woman who sits right next to me at work regularly has a mountain of snacks for anyone in the office to take at their leisure. And so that gave me an idea...

Cue a spot-on Beavis & Butt-Head laugh impression. Every time I walk by this in our office I think, “I should get a picture of that.” Today I took action. My recent birthday might legally suggest 48, always 12 on the inside though.

“Can you believe it’s Jakemas again?!?” That’s what everyone exclaims around this time of year. You’ll hear it in the streets. At family dinner. Anyhow… I wanted an excuse to play around with a claymation style video and taking advantage of this sacred holiday felt like the perfect opportunity.

Bravo to the rockstar on the Farming Simulator team who every year is in that meeting like, “This year I was thinking of a tractor shot, sprawling farm and cloudy sky,” and the entire team is just in tears giving him/her/them a standing ovation. You are an inspiration of minimal effort to us all.

Friends traveling in San Diego this week posted about visiting a place called Villains Brewery and that just seemed like a fun idea for a video. So here it is…

I work at the Eastmont mall in Oakland. A few years ago our building had a rat infestation big enough to hit local news. So this year I decided to dress up as an Eastmont rat, complete with an employee badge and all. Happy Halloween, everyone!

Ten years ago (almost to the day) I lost an aerial drone in the Arizona desert. The sting of the loss was amplified by the lost footage. I decided to use AI to imagine what that footage might look like. And, per the AI song included, there was a musical witness there the day I lost the drone. Enjoy.

I know our county is on a limited budget, but hear me out... we install sensors on all employee toilets and urinals, and if people walk away from either without flushing, a camera takes a picture of said person, and that photo gets placed on a Wall of Shame for at least one quarter. And…

Took some famous photos and paintings and ran them through ye ole AI machine to turn them in to videos. I also like doing these to point out that AI isn't perfect. It took some creative liberties with many likenesses (among other errors). Anyhow... happy Tuesday, everyone!

I mean… if I’m FORCED to say something nice about these people… I guess it’s that they give absolutely zero fucks about what people think of them and their small pee-pees. And I guess that’s somewhat commendable.

Converting still photos to video using AI. I’ve lived more years in California than Arizona, and I like California far better for MANY reasons. Somehow Arizona still feels like home. I took some pics from online from around the state and animated them with AI and set it to an AI created song.

For some reason the other day I was thinking about the stereotype of white people thinking they can handle spice at ethnic restaurants then failing horribly, and then that somehow jumped to wizards and potions. Anyhow... this is how I spent my day off! It's not perfect by any means.
