Rupert "Ripper" Giles is legitimately one of my all-time favorite television characters and I think the real secret sauce to what made that show work. His ability to ground everything while never giving up the humor and heart was a cornerstone of the show. One of the all-time great not-dad TV dads.

I loved the Angelika film center, even worked there for a summer in college. Had no idea it was actually named after a person. Thanks for creating a haven for independent movies that also allowed a poor college kid to almost entirely live off of popcorn for a summer.
