In 2022 I created an initial spec to bi-directionally map between #FHIR and #openEHR data. Now an open source implementation will be released in January. I don’t know much details yet, but I’m hyped!

A big heartfelt thank you from all of us at Signal to every person who has ever used Signal, gotten your friends to make the switch, and donated to support our work. It is truly an honor to build Signal for you. 💙

This is wild: apparently loading deps at runtime is so wild in this ecosystem, that my site is not working anymore? I’m not 100% sure yet, but maybe the problem is also upstream in the markitdown lib. Anyway, requested dep isn’t working with pyodide.

Let’s see how this affects my dear clone in hibernation: @jakesmolka.bsky.social (Manually created placeholder)

Emily Liu@emilyliu.me

as of this week, when you verify your account by updating your username from a default like emily.bsky.social to your website @emilyliu.me, your former bsky.social username is reserved for you automatically (and prevents impersonators from claiming it). you can revert back to it at anytime

I got a new idea for a small pet project. But it looks like I need to look into running Python as WASM for it. Sure, super interesting, but both are more or less new to me. Let’s see if I can make it work.

I tried building a personal finance analytics app with Copilot. Kickstarting was really quick and I got something running only with minor tweaks. But the domain knowledge of the business code logic was just plain wrong?! I don’t have an MBA, so I really had to think twice to catch it, not cool! 😮

Coincidentally, this is a great reminder of how expensive it can be to maintain infrastructure at scale - and maybe more importantly - with proper privacy.

Signal@signal.org

It costs around $50 million every year to ensure Signal is robust and available all over the world for anyone whenever they need it. And as a nonprofit, that money comes from all of you; the people who believe that we all deserve a place to speak freely. signal.org/donate/

I totally missed that. Cool software, cool merch I guess 🤩

Finally had an hour to fix my homeserver's backups. Perks of a hobby project, but it's still a weird feeling to not have working backups for some days. #selfhosted

I really like the idea of block lists and I just used some to block hundreds (?). But looking at how this works in practice, giving random people power to propagate blocks to thousands with a click: what could go wrong? 🫠

Well, that's another way how it can end: bsky.app/profile/skys... (I totally respect that decision on a personal level, though!)

This is the mod posting. One person can not mod this acct. It's too big. I was spending 6-8 hours a day on this acct & I'm 1.1K followers behind in vetting my own acct. The goal of an acct like this is to build community & keep you safe. There's a great base here. I am stepping away. I apologize

Love the vibe on the internet on Thanksgiving. Somewhat cozy and US folks are posting pics of food and family gatherings. Happy Thanksgiving, to those who celebrate!

And here we go again…

Bluesky@bsky.app

Bluesky now has 13M+ users, the @atproto.com developer ecosystem continues to grow, and we’ve shipped features like DMs and video! We’re excited to announce that we’ve raised a $15M Series A to continue growing the community, investing in Trust and Safety, and supporting the dev ecosystem.

Guess I gotta finally look into how feeds are working. Like why am I seeing the content I’m seeing in a custom feed. And is it purely algorithmic or more like content moderation?

I’ll still have to dive into every detail, but so far this sounds like the most clever implementation they could come up with. Nice! #signal

IT IS HAPPENING! Today, Signal launches phone number privacy & usernames! These let you use Signal w/o sharing your phone number w/ the people you talk to Proud to add more privacy to Signal, & proud of the brilliant team that made it happen♥️ https://signal.org/blog/phone-number-privacy-usernames/

lol I just spend my free night preparing a small contribution to a big open source project, just to see someone create an equal pull request only a bit earlier.
