So happy to wake up in a Toronto that (resoundingly) rejected the politics of fear & voted for a mayor who clearly loves this city. Now to make sure that hopeful promise is fulfilled over the next four years.

One more week to get it done, Toronto! Here’s a (very) partial list of what Olivia Chow has accomplished in just three years as mayor.

THREAD: For everybody panicking about this poll, let's look at the accuracy of the 2022 TO Centre poll from Forum Research, where they also have a tiny and unequal sample size that skews extremely old. Poll vs Real: Chris Moise: 27% vs 48% Nicki Ward 39% vs 18% web.archive.org/web/20250227...

Happy 50th, Book City! I've worked with Book City designing their bags & bookmarks, so when lan & Jessica asked me to do their 50th illustrations I felt so honoured (esp as an ex-bookseller myself). 50 yrs is a long time for any family-run biz, but when it's a bookstore we really gotta celebrate.

With so many event organizers using Al for their posters, it was great to be asked to illustrate the poster for the Toronto Garlic Festival at Allan Gardens on Sept 27. Would AI have drawn these cute little garlic clove people?!

Lower don trail open again after three years. The newly re-paved section south of Riverdale pedestrian bridge is lovely but north of that to pottery road it’s…exactly the same? Three years 😮‍💨

Was invited to capture in illustrated form the unveiling of Canada Post’s Places of Pride stamps at The 519, which were designed by Kelly Small & illustrated by Tim Singleton. Such a fun project.

This is your sign to hire an illustrator as well as a photographer to capture your event 😉 Illustrations were based on my own reference photos & those provided by event photographer Andrew Williamson.

Glad to see the federal government step in & stop Ford's island airport expansion but also let's be real-it was the extreme pressure from the public & organizations & politicians that forced their hand. Special shout-out to @normsworld.bsky.social & all his work with NoJetsTO.
