Also many people will play docked and only see the internal screen from time to time. And if LCD is so much better than 8 years ago, I don't see a problem.

While I am dissapointed by this personally, I do get why they're doing it. Mainly, it'll be to keep costs down at launch, and not scare folks off with a high entry price or split SKUs. That said, LCD panels have become MUCH better since the original Switch launched.
