Did you catch that special coverage announcement at the end of the show?
On Thursday morning, former special counsel Jack Smith will be testifying to Congress. That evening Rachel and the gang will break down that testimony in extended special coverage from the long desk.

Trump: "They're gonna make DC a state and they're gonna make Puerto Rico a state. So now they pick up two states, four senators. They're gonna pick up electoral votes. It's gonna be a very, very bad situation. Now, if we do what I'm saying, they'll most likely never obtain power."

“I got to know Redford over friendly lunches and dinners and interviews for The Times and at Harvard’s Kennedy School,” our columnist Maureen Dowd writes. “And that rarest of things happened: He was everything you hoped he would be.”
We're witnessing the culminating rot of shareholder capitalism in real time.
Some of the most powerful corporations in America have sided with an authoritarian regime in order to protect their short term profits — the fundamental rights of everyone else be damned.
Forgive me if I treat his death with the same callousness that he has shown American school children, women, people of color, the lgbtq+ community, the Jewish community and many other minorities."
Kirk literally died on the hill he chose to stand on. He supported this. He fought and rallied for it, ironically, to his last breath. He died for his own cause. He preached hate from one side of his mouth while hiding behind Jesus from the other side.
I can't even begin to tackle the feelings I have about those that are on social media screaming, shouting and declaring war on the left for this. Where was this anger when those same bullets were ripping through elementary school children?
but when it's a man that thinks gun deaths are an acceptable consequence of protecting the second amendment, suddenly it's very political. Kirk was a racist, misogynistic, and dangerous extremist that used the Bible as a cloak.
It is sad we are being asked to fly a flag at half mast today but not when Melissa Hortman, her husband and her dog were murdered in their home. It's sad that we are constantly told not to politicize death by gun violence when it's children, or members of a synagogue, or the lgbtq+ community but
"I think it's sad that nobody has anything to say about, yet another, school shooting today. I think it's sad that we had a moment of prayer and silence in the House of Representatives for a man that espoused hate with every breath but not for school children gunned down in their high school.
Just a regular reminder to please support your local theatre, café, bookstore, bakery, and library. We breathe life into these places when we support them.
Without us, they can't survive, and truthfully, without them, neither can we.
These officers are unhinged and deranged and need to be held accountable. Locally first because we know this federal government won't prosecute criminals
NBC: “Four Epstein victims who spoke with NBC News say the Trump administration should be exposing any powerful men who shared Epstein’s penchant for vulnerable young women, not putting the brakes on any future prosecutions.”

Trump’s former casino president, Jack O’Donnell:
Epstein was Trump’s best friend during those days… Donald and Jeffrey had come into the casino in the wee hours of Sunday morning, you know, two buddies, they had 3 women with them…the women that they brought down were underage to be in the casino
President Trump is openly telling a celebrity and political enemy — Rosie O’Donnell — that he is “serious” about taking away her American citizenship and exiling her from the U.S. because he dislikes the views she expresses when exercising her free speech rights

Fit to govern!
No, not to live. O nation miserable,
With an untitled tyrant bloody-scepter'd,
When shalt thou see thy wholesome days again,
Since that the truest issue of thy throne
By his own interdiction stands accursed,
And does blaspheme his breed?

As one whose mother escaped Hitler’s Germany and later came to this country through Ellis Island I can’t even begin to tell you how incredibly sick this all makes me.
We must all speak up and never stop speaking up until this type of purposeful hatred is scourged from our country.

I don’t know how to feel regarding Independence Day tomorrow…..
As to those 3 evil, depraved smilers in the photo? May hell truly be an eternity and every bit as hot as possible. And to the 4th one looking horrified? I hope he’s truly sickened by what he’s participating in. It certainly sickens me.

2. I was driving through Orono yesterday and saw 6 or 7 people standing on the corner of Mill and Main Streets protesting the wanna be king. I laid on my horn and waved and screamed my support and cried out of pride that so many know better and are insisting it stop.

2 things have made me cry in the last 3 days. 1. Was standing to hear the Bangor Band play the National Anthem in Stillwater Park. I always get misty eyed out of pride hearing it. This time it was out of shame for what they are doing to our country and to our fellow human beings.
I got permission to share this, and I'm extremely grateful for that.
The Onion got this letter from one of our subscribers in Alaska. She works with dementia patients and decided to leave a copy in the car for each one.
This email made my year. Read it and you'll see what I mean. People are good.
Thanks a lot Lisa Murkowski for selling out the rest of the 49 States. Hope you feel great about accepting bribes for Alaska at a horrible cost to the rest of us. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
We fought the good fight from emoluments to impeachment to criminal prosecution but Congress failed us and the Supreme Court has been fully complicit. We must keep invoking the lower courts’ fidelity to law but will need massive political mobilization.

“The phrase constitutional crisis no longer describes our situation. The Constitution has failed, and we no longer know which institution will rescue it.” True but incomplete: It is finally We the People who alone can rescue it. Political activism is the answer

Damn‼️ Federal agents blew a door off for this?
Federal agents blasted their way into an LA home where Jenny Ramirez lives with her boyfriend and two kids.
She heard the blast while checking on her 6-year-old, with her 1-year-old in her arms.
Ramirez says everyone in the home is a U.S. citizen.

We’re lifting up the voices of people whose lives have been directly harmed by the Trump administration.”

This is oligarchy. This is obscene.
While 60% live paycheck to paycheck & kids go hungry, Jeff Bezos, worth $230 billion, goes to Venice on his $500 million yacht for a $20 million wedding & spends $5 million on a ring while his real tax rate is just 1.1%.
End this oligarchy.
We’ve bombed Iran. And dismantled our joint terrorism task force. And sent a third of the FBI to help ICE. And gutted the National Security Council. And a drunk guy is in charge at the pentagon. And our intelligence allies probably won’t share intel with us. Because people couldn’t vote for a woman.
We are facing a serious threat to democracy, law, and liberty. The abuse of prosecutorial power to intimidate, investigate, and detain political opponents is upon us. It is a constitutional crisis. I will keep speaking out until public outrage overflows. I just hope it’s not too little, too late.
