The older I get, the more certain I am that Tootsie Rolls are the GOAT. If I could choose from all of OG Tootsie Rolls, logs (far and thin), Tootsie Pops and the Fruit Flavors, I might take that combo over anything else. Over all variety of M&M, all Skittles, all Reese's combos ...

Littlest is Holly (kinda). Pig tails, a bite dress and a little red riding hood coat. I'm supposed to be Hopper but I'm not quite done with my costume yet.

Fourth down making a difference in the Titans Browns game. Titans coming up short on 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th and goal (allegedly), Browns succeeding in the Red zone on their 4th and short.

Browns are far from as good as their record. The Titans are pretty much as good as their record. Who wins? Who cares, really? I just hope to see the Titans offense progress. Namely Cam.

I've been an Xbox fan since day 1. Bought the OG Xbox, blah blah blah. Not only that but I think PS has actively worked against gamers (exclusivity, resistance to crossplay, etc). I'm convinced Microsoft hates Xbox at this point and their strategies have turned me all the way off.

I bought a middling PC last year and have been transitioning but still occasionally bought Xbox games and mocked PS owners over supporting the dark side. I'll never buy another Xbox game and I'll still mock the dark side but Xbox might as well be owned by venture capitalists at this point.

Is it better to be anti-gamer or to exist as an open mockery to yourself as you're sold for parts? Eh. At least a lot of the Xbox people aren't the problem. They're a victim too. Given only those choices, I'll mock Xbox and loathe PS. But, again, I'm out on Xbox. Their management deserves to lose.

Beyond the potential I feel like reading it just to tear it apart and point out the specific things it does poorly: Hard pass Then again, pointing out things I don't like is kind of my thing.

Pollster: We know nothing. Every method we've used to collect data is in some way significantly compromised, and gambling websites spin that data for profit. We might as well be poking at sheep entrails under the full moon. Interviewer: But the Dems are up, right? Pollster: Oh yeah no doubt.

One of the things I probably don't do enough of as a hobby writer is research. I notice this most often when I accidentally do research by watching a video or hearing a comment that slaps me in the face with practicality and I can instantly imagine exactly how that could get put into a book.

He said run away. But hurt someone first so that his friends stop to help and you can get away. If you just turn and run they will chase you. I will absolutely be taking that lesson and having someone demonstrate it and explain it as character building.

Unarmed MC fights a knife-weilder and beats them up? Badass. MC does that and fights the mob too? Bigger badass. MC bears up / injures the knife-weilder before running from the mob. What are they? Well, if they explain why they did that, now they're a huge badass AND smart as fuck.

I was just watching a video on a martial arts technique and they were talking about self-defense against a person with a knife. The comment was made that most advice is to run away. This person agreed because he said usually a person with a knife will also have friends with sticks.

A 49ers fan and podcaster (my brother) mentioned that he has a strong feeling the 49ers are working on a big trade. His guess was Jeffrey Simmons. This makes some sense as the Titans remain so, so bad and could possibly use the draft capital to build for the future.

But I think ownership is desperate to have a good product when the new stadium opens. Trading Jeffrey Simmons actively works against that. My response was: I wouldn't be floored or flat-out shocked if they traded Jeffrey Simmons but I'd still be surprised and would bet against it.

By the way, if you were desperate to have a good product when that stadium opens ... and this is where you were ... you'd be so freaking pissed.

That's pretty much a lasso around the entirety of Gen X. It's interesting, being a Xennial, how differently people older than me view the world as compared to people younger than me. There's too many ways to describe the differences in experience to know for sure what drives Gen X so far astray.

But that's just my experience and I think one of the most important things people can do when they see a stat like this is to go talk to others (Gen X) and seek to understand before judging. And then judge kindly and try to share your own viewpoint back. Learn from one another where possible.

I fail at that on the internet (an admitted personality flaw, mixed with the nature of the internet) but I really really try in person.

I do think there's a level of survival and forced independence that they experienced which could lead to a certain kind of disconnect ... reliance on self and lack of empathy or concern for others. But that seems harsh and too simplistic.

I do know, from personal discussions with friends, co-workers and acquaintances, that Gen seems to be far more willing to accept behavior from others that they acknowledge is poor, rude, judgmental or even racist ... as long as the results work out. Ends justifying means seems a pattern.

I'm often surprised by how hard it is, even knowing how hard it is, to properly conceive of how much bigger big numbers are than other big numbers. Like, the brain just kinda shuts off.

If you made $100,000 every single day since Christ walked the earth, you'd have around $74B. That's less than 1/10th of the hoarded wealth of Elon Musk. You'd need to get $100,000 every day for over 27,000 years to get to a trillion dollars.

Nah, they can go play in traffic. Hard pass.

As this consolidation / abandonment of developers continues, it will become increasingly prescient to ask if we're getting more and better games. Is this an improvement for consumers? I seriously doubt it. Cheaper, shallower development of what does emerge? Maybe.

Just got my son's 8th grade photo. He's wearing an orange shirt with a patterned brown jacket, hair wildly disheveled & it's on a blue background. He says he had to run across school 3x on account of being late and then forgetting a form. It's rough. But nothing tops his kindergarten photo:

I will never hesitate to repost this come school photo time. It's an all-time great memory. We ordered photos that year without getting a photo preview. Bought the most expensive package. Then this thing shows up in the mail. Had a damn fine laugh at it then and do so again every time I remember.

The more I fight my natural inclinations and slow down enough to review tweets for typos (yes, they're tweets - shut up) the more a part of my brain changes, thus forcing me to both create more typos and miss them in review. I might stop reviewing. It's pointless.

Dalton Knecht seemed like the kind of talent that would enjoy a nice career at worst. Not elite but tooled enough. Surprised it didn't work out, tbh.

Woooooow. He Who Fights With Monsters Book 7 Chapter 39 "I'm sure it will dawn on you eventually." Take a bow, Travis Deverell. Take a freaking bow.
