Today I've been figuring out an island design to commit to, this is me sketching on some basic renders. I did replace the second jetty with a beach, not sure if I'll find room for the sea stairs or the boat but think they'd be pretty cool

My other game (A Peaceful Place) still very much a thing but I want to launch something smaller and sooner whilst I have a bit of spare time between jobs. In my dream world it would buy me much more time sooner to focus on gamedev/art generally, which is otherwise difficult atm

For this reason (time/money) I have a Kickstarter for my other game. A successful Kickstarter will need a lot of time/effort and I'm thinking for now to spend that time on a smaller idea instead. Best case it removes the need for the Kickstarter at all, worst case I've made and launched a game!

This is a quick visual prototype/test of an idea I had using existing static placeholders. The plan is your character will potter around the scene doing stuff that accumulates points that can be spent customising character/scene. Will be an idle game / desktop companion — multiplayer planned also

I'm doing this as a kind of sketch in Blender (I exported the above with some post effects just for fun) and will keep on doing things like carving out ponds, adding basic waterfalls, bridges/walkways, buildings, anything that helps build up confidence before going back to Godot
