With book 4 coming later this year, now would be a perfect time to get caught up on the first 3 books in the Crowns saga. www.amazon.com/dp/B092MWFQ2...

"Is this character trans?" Well, she got her wife pregnant, so... probably? (I mean, that's not the only evidence she is, but I thought that'd be a big clue)
At least part of getting beta reader feedback (at least for me) always seems to be worrying that I've been too heavy-handed with explaining stuff and then getting notes that people didn't understand why something happened or what a character's motivation was. 🤷♂️

She's bad. If you have the scratch, toss a couple few bucks to @abdulelsayed.bsky.social. We gotta win this one. Here's a handy link for donating to him and a few other candidates I really want to win on November 3: secure.actblue.com/donate/pakpi...

And Happy Ace Week again! 🖤🩶🤍💜 (For real this time!😆)
Happy Ace Week! 🖤🩶🤍💜 For this week & beyond we give you Asexuals on Adventures; by sea, land, spaceship, magic portal & more! Some of our aspec main characters are on world-saving quests. Others are exploring life, love, neurodivergence, mysteries or solving problems. 🌈📚 itch.io/b/3946/asexu...

Oof, okay, another beta reader mentioned this scene as problematic, not because one of the participants is asexual, but because they're royalty, which this reader is telling me means that the other person cannot consent to have sex with her? I guess they're saying because a member of the royal
Huh. One of the pieces of feedback was that they didn't think a scene was written properly for an asexual character & that I should probably consult members of the asexual community to rewrite it better. I... already did. That's why it's written the way it is. So I'm not sure what to do with that.
And now I'm left wondering if there's any term of endearment that wouldn't be flagged as condescending. Pretty much any can be, depending on tone and circumstance (and since I'm 44 and have never before heard that "sweetie" is automatically condescending, I don't know what else I'm missing).
Okay, is the term "sweetie" inherently condescending? I've never heard that before but some people are trying to tell me it is. I'm sure it can be used in a condescending way (almost any term of endearment can), but I'm 44 and have never heard that before. Or is it like a regional thing?

Okay this crap has made me angry. You wanna find some REAL activists who will share things you can actually DO instead of stare at deactivist "A.i." bullshit? Here's a thread of starter packs!
I'm blocking @mary1kathy.bsky.social and adding the account to my blocklists. Life is too short and the times are too serious to fuck around with disinformation and "A.i." bullshit. For accountability, here's the screenshot of the video they posted.

Heard from my doctor today. They couldn't figure out what this lump was with an ultrasound, so they ordered and MRI, and the results of the MRI are basically 🤷♂️ They're pretty sure it's not cancerous, but other than that they don't seem to have any solid idea.
I had an MRI on Monday and while I'm not claustrophobic, it's still not a ton of fun to be slid into a tube barely bigger than your body.

It was either An American Tail or Star Trek IV. They were both in theaters around the same time 40 years ago and no one in our family remembers which we saw first.
First film you saw at the cinema. The real first one, not the pretend one you tell people! Mine: The Empire Strikes Back, 1980, Wigan. We were near the front and I can still remember how massive the AT-ATs looked, looming over us out of the snow :) Film, year, where, and whatever stuck with you.
