A heads up: I post more on Dreamwidth than I do on here due to ability to curate my audience. I'm the same name on DW--if you have an account and aren't following me, please consider it!

Ohhhhh boy. I’m in Melbourne (the CBD) waiting for a tram and I did NOT miss the meth heads dancing and yelling. I’m avoiding eye contact like it’s my job.

Am trying very hard not to overreact. Gonna give it at least the rest of the week to settle and think through it but: this is shit and I feel awful.

“The exercises are working! I haven’t dislocated anything in months!” says she with hubris immediately before dislocating a kneecap (I’m fine, I put it back straight away, it just hurts)

I block on both vibes and mood (mine). You could have expressed an anodyne displeasure for something I love and some days I'd be like "NOPE. BLOCKED." (In real life, people have the right to hold whatever opinions they choose although I will judge them for it. However, this is the internet--

Am out at breakfast and the waitress is so comically bad at her job I’m tempted to start bussing tables (seriously she’s obviously stressed and harrassed but she’s walking places with empty hands. Like, girl.)

I went to the gym and afterwards Mac stuck his head into my chest and started SNIFFING. Full on snorting me. I don’t think I touched anything weird? Maybe it’s just my sweat.

Comrades, what is it called when a jacket has... folded over panels at the centre front fastening like this? I'm trying to design a jacket and I'm looking for alternatives and I don't know what to search for because I don't know what it's called.

I think we could do with a little less "Don't worry, I'm allowed to make this art because I'm traumatized in these ways." and a lot more "Don't worry, I'm allowed to make this art because I'm allowed to make any art. And also, it's none of your fucking business whether or not I am traumatized."

I had a cleaner today. She did a great job, and I’m very happy but Daisy is Not Impressed. She keeps going around and sniffing the corners (probably planning on how to make cat hair drifts reoccur)

Bendigo Woollen Mills has silk mohair available in some gorgeous shades but I'd need to feel it before buying it because mohair LOOKS cozy but is emphatically not. It's one of the itchiest fibres on earth.

BAH. The one good dish they do on ONE day of the week (Tandoori chicken on Thursdays) and they ran out before I could get any. This is why I keep snacks in my desk.

Guys, I want to read a specific kind of book and I'm not sure it exists. Specifically it is - A person, male or female, who is Not A Hero - Living in grimdark times - whose way of fighting is to Invent Stuff (Stuff invented may be hygiene, it may be war engines, it may be crop rotation. Don't care.)

The protagonist can't be - Whorephobic - Misogynistic (both of these rule out K J Parker) The Author also can't think that nihilism is a clever and sophisticated solution. I don't care if they win or lose, but authorially endorsed nihilism makes me want to punch authors. Again, this is @ K J Parker)

A lot of the discourse around (author) sounds like “I’m mad I wasn’t able to bully them” and I need people to actually stop and take a good hard look at themselves
