Who at the NSA loved the number 4 this much bro how do we have another one

nightshade →eth0:2026@nightshade.technology

resetting the "days since a very important system used by large parts of critical infrastructure used '4' as a security key" counter to 0

So Danny Trejo was manipulated and tricked into being in Ben Shapiro's newest film. Holy shit.

can we ban forced arbitration altogether? it seems like it's just a way for companies to weasel out of any risk of punishment by forcing anyone to waive their right to class-action suits and to go to what might as well be a kangaroo court. kinda feels like a violation of my rights

but then again, in America, The Free-est Country In The World, I have to live in fear of not being allowed to live my life, present, and express myself how I like, lest I get hate-crimed (by the government or by a random civilian), so I shouldn't be surprised

okay. why does Windows' IO scheduler and general architecture suck so fucking much???? why can ONE mechanical disk getting *hammered* make my whole machine slow to a crawl and make apps that don't even *touch* that disk struggle to launch for 30 seconds to multiple minutes?????

like. I can TAB OUT OF A SOURCE GAME on Linux and have zero negative effects, and yet doing the same on Windows makes it catastrophically explode and crash to desktop, or at best have noticeable issues and instability

okay. this is ridiculous I can't even open a TEN MEGABYTE ZIP FILE in my fucking DOWNLOADS FOLDER ON MY SSD or even open 7-zip AT ALL until the disk "unfreezes" and files get written again and then everything suddenly opens all at once. Microsoft how is this acceptable???

was walking home from the store when i saw these questionnaire signs leading down the path and it basically ended with "if you want to spend some time with a guy who's crazy for you look up" and there was a dUDE IN A TREE WITH A BOUQUET OF FLOWERS WAITING TO ASK HIS CRUSH OUT TO HOMECOMING

like. Linux seems to have Windows absolutely mogged in terms of I/O handling. why the hell does pressing a global shortcut like the Media Play/Pause key just not do anything at all until the focused app starts responding again??? why is a frozen app able to eat my keystrokes???

from what little I know about Windows behaviors and architecture, this might some kind of issue with its process message queueing system? (which I think is also the culprit for apps (like a Source game) crashing if you interact at all with the window while it's frozen, but not on Linux, even Proton)

Windows lives on an NVMe SSD, so why the fuck is a mechanical data disk having a bajillion tiny files copied make my machine slow to a crawl???? also heavy HDD reads stall out games (cough cough CONTROL Resonant) while they stream assets on Windows, but not Linux via Proton (which is borked anyway)

my mom & family was frantically searching for her dog Sadie & screaming her name & running over the whole property. "she always comes when i call" i went out into the driveway, barked twice, and sadie immediately barked back and came running from a bush by the street humans dont get it. HEHEHEHE

I'm a bit late to the party, but Opera (of GX fame) are (allegedly) loan sharks that (allegedly) charged interest rates upwards of 876% for 7-29 day plans in countries such as Kenya and India, collected your contacts, and then (allegedly) harassed them until you paid up if you were late by one day

www.spacebar.news/stop-using-o... (there's several articles, but this one seems to be fairly comprehensive and includes more details about other alleged shady practices. search "opera gx loan shark" to find more of them, though they're all based on the same (possibly biased, as noted here) report)

spacebar.newsStop using Opera Browser and Opera GXOpera Browser and Opera GX are bloated web browsers, and the company behind them has tried to cover up its controversies.

was almost excited about an app until i saw that it's open-source in name only. 9.99 GBP to get features you'd actually want like the TUI mode and CLI monitor feature and cable naming??? the github repo looks fucking horrendous because "Mirror Bot committed: Mirror from private (99e5b812) d0fa3c4"
