One outlying part of Portugal turns all its lights off for days to help these chicks. In Tenerife we have tourists instead so the birds need every bit of extra help we can offer. Do have a read of the article and my earlier post below. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

It's shit or bust now. And it's the future of the young that's been trashed. They're rightly taking control in trying to make the softest landing for the collapse they'll inherit as adults. Serbian students. Wow. ✊🙌❤️

Fantasyland, in other words, and we all have to live in it. The only choice we have, the only one, is how we do so. We'll have to learn how to achieve our own great simplifications, and those behind the curve, perhaps still in denial, will struggle most. I'm glad to be, and be among, like minds.

In a mad, bad world, the decision to arrest, prosecute & send to jail as terrorists thousands of our best people for silently opposing genocide & the misuse of antiterrorism law by an authoritarian Zionist clique is the sickest, stupidest thing I've seen any UK govt do and god knows I've seen a lot.

conceivable response is that the PP can't even make the damn gesture. Of course they can't since it's their own policies that have seen a defenceless and sick octogenarian dragged out of her house, now dead, with protesting protectors teargassed. It's a race to the bottom now. And everywhere.

It's not that hard to understand. The poorest are a drain on "our" resources. "We" being "society" and "the poorest" being "outside society", I.e. not the rentier class. Populism doesn't have to be post-truth. It can be brutally honest. When times are as uncertain as ours, and the information space as messed up as it is, politicians who are willing to go in front of people and explain what's happening are wanted and needed. That's how you regain trust in politics.

Broken record ... few realise how young the nation state is. We're tribal by nature and instinct. It's hard enough to maintain cohesion in a single tribe let alone a jamboree of several. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see some current countries fail to survive let alone new ones form.
