To all new followers: welcome! I will be your tour guide for the next 30 years, until Disneyland's 100th birthday. Building a digital Disneyland archive at Parkendium (mediagraph.io/parkendium), currently featuring over 225,000 assets in the Public Archive.

Welcome to all the new followers I’m assuming abandoned the twitter hellscape finally. If you want some good Disneyland content I recommend following the amazing @33wonderland.bsky.social and @jason.parkendium.com

Still excited every time I tag a photo with Matterhorn circulation south, even though it's essentially an alley.

Jason Schultz@jason.parkendium.com

I'm looking for a geographic keyword (settled on Matterhorn circulation south for the moment) that would bring up all three of these photos, so Galactic Grill wouldn't be helpful in that sense.

#25YearsAgoTodayAtDisneyland (10/26/2001) In the midst of a project I suggested to document all the menus for reference at City Hall, I captured these interior signs from the food court that was Hollywood & Dine in Disney's California Adventure.

Pinning for future reference regarding keywording, although most of these are from Twitter and not currently in the Parkendium Public Archive. Castle portraits: 20,976 DCA Wheel portraits: 7,399 Floral Mickey portraits: 4,199 Mickey Pumpkin portraits: 1,298 Partners Statue portraits: 1,602

Asking Bob Gurr if he was a member of the Monorail Society in 2000. "Maybe I am and maybe I'm not."

Jason Schultz@jason.parkendium.com

I was vaguely aware of the Monorail Society in the 1990s, but I did not know that it had a newsletter!

So a long, long while ago someone gave me some old photos of WED Imagineers at work (can't remember who, but thanks!). I shall now post them here for Tom and all of you to pore over!

Well, let’s seem ‘em!!

Reposting for Bob's 95th. There's some Disneyland here, but also a lot of his other interests in California, hiking, and geography through which we connected!

Jason Schultz@jason.parkendium.com

In celebration of today's premiere of Bob Gurr: Living by Design, I've dug deep into the family archive for a bunch of photos of Bob—who's been an important part of my life for two decades—you've never seen. The thread will be chronological, but starting here at Sitton Peak in late 2006. 1/40

Don't forget.

Jason Schultz@jason.parkendium.com

Bob Gurr will turn three billion seconds old on Tuesday, November 17, 2026. Mark your calendars! He'll get to the more understandable age of 95 on Sunday, October 25.

Compare with the finished interior of a Starspeeder. Don't worry about the flash; it was just me and Rex on this trip. What are the odds it was his first flight?!

For Disneyland authenticity, I ripped off the "Author & Archivist" language and font from a real sign advertising a Disney Gallery signing in 1997. #SignageSunday

#25YearsAgoTodayAtDisneyland (10/25/2001) After my closing shift, I took a few photos around Main Street. These are the ones that turned out sharp! An empty Main Street was the reward for getting through the last of the Guest concerns in City Hall.

On a microblogging platform, I don’t have enough characters to post about what I just experienced. Younger Jason, if you want to learn about and advance the study of Disneyland history, move to downtown Anaheim. Maybe the rest of you, too?

I’m spending a long weekend in SoCal visiting Disneyland, and I got caught in a rare thunderstorm last night. While I got pretty well soaked, I also got some pretty excellent stills from videos I shot:

It's that day of the year! Hope to see Stacia at the Anaheim Halloween Festival this year.

This year we were the first in line! And 1/3 closer to our house at Center Greens Park!

The FIRST Disney Parks space station: Tomorrowland's Space Station X-1 (1955-1960).

Note that this wasn’t a computer enhancement. Sometimes I’m able to upgrade the best available digital copy. The quoted photo is a digital photo from 2000 of a slide being projected for presentation. The improved photo is a purposeful 2026 digital capture from that original slide!

Accidentally revealed to the kids that supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is a made up word. Thankfully… “You didn’t ruin my childhood! I was just confused.”

I think it's highly likely that I am the only person to ever wear a Redd Rockett's Pizza Port opening crew t-shirt in Anakin Skywalker's Episode I home, summer 1998.

This is the only Santa I'll accept in Mickey's Toontown.

Roger Rodriguez@rgrrabbit1.bsky.social

Because of Bluey & Friends taking over the Fantasyland Theater, Santa’s meet & greet is moving to Mickey’s Toontown. He’ll be in the old Trolley Barn. A construction wall is up as Disneyland prepares for the opening on November 13.
